What to tip grocery delivery service?

What is customary for tipping the grocery delivery service driver? If you don't know customary, what do you tip?

I think I'm usually around 15% on the order (not including delivery charge).

In that vein...

Usually, when we have groceries delivered, we schedule delivery while we're in our room...so there's some face time with the delivery person and we give them a cash tip.

This upcoming trip in September, we're contemplating having our groceries delivered while we're "out", since we'll be arriving so early in the day and we're actually going to do some "park" time.

So my question is: How do we tip? When we call in the order, do we just ask the person to add a tip to our credit card? Do we call back AFTER delivery and have them add a tip? Do we just NOT tip (which would feel odd to me...)?

When we ordered via Garden Grocer online, their form had a place to enter the tip amount. They delivered while we were out, then we had Bell Services bring the order up later on. We gave him a tip as well, but not as much since they were just bringing the bags up to the room.

We use wegoshop.com (they offer more flexibility with brands, etc.) and they add the gratuity in automatically if you're not going to be there when they deliver.
