What to pack?

I've been in May and July.
May in wore Jeans and a vest top and it was always sunny but in July I had shorts and strappy tops on and it was boiling.
Hope that kinda helps.
June next year will be a new one for me lol but I'd pack shorts and 3 quatre pants with vest tops.

We're going for a week in July and I agree with what Tinkerbell says, We went in September last time and it was gorgeous weather a little chilly in the morning but lovely by mid morning, We're from Glasgow and it was a bit like our "Heat waves" in summer

DD wants to take all of her princess outfits but i dont know if it will be too warm in July? :confused3

I will pack them anyway but ive also bought loads of dresses with disney characters on them incase it is too hot :cool1:

We're going the first week in June (half term, so tail end of May into June), and I'm going to be packing jeans, shorts, T-shirts, vests, light cardies and a warmer sweater for the evenings. And a waterproof jacket, of course! I think lots of light layers is a safe bet when the weather could go either way.

We went in March last year, and weren't prepared enough for how cold you can feel when you're outside all day, but we're hoping June will be a bit kinder to us.

This is my first post after just reading for a few weeks, so thank you to everyone who's been posting such useful tips! I really think our trip will be enhanced by my new-found knowledge! :)

I always check accuweather.com before starting the packing - you can get a 15-day forecast :), and its not let me down so far.

I've never been rained on so much as our last trip in June a couple of years ago - but it was warm rain and then the sunshine came out.

Thanks for that link, I'll be sure to check it nearer the time :thumbsup2

My husband has said I'm insane for thinking about taking rain coats, buggy cover etc, but then I reminded him Paris isn't a million miles from Britain, and it has been known to rain from time to time during the British summer :rotfl:

I went in June last year & it was shorts weather the whole time as it was really hot:thumbsup2

We went the beginning of July in 2006 and it was baking i remember reading the temperature at the hotel reception and it said 36 the following year we went in June (2 weeks earlier) and it was overcast and a little chilly when we went to emh and the evenings. We also had a couple of showers and a huge thunder storm while we were in the park. I agree with other posters 3 quarter trousers, t shirts etc and make sure you have a light jumper or cardigan for those early mornings. I will definitely be taking my rain jacket when i go in July as i have been caught out before and had to buy a poncho (which ripped in 5 minutes)

I was thinking of getting 4 Ponchos so we can have them in a bag in case of a downpour. Dont fancy buying them at DLP. We'll also take a couple of fleeces as they are lightweight and easy to carry!

:-)

we went at the end of july last year and it was BOILING!!!!too hot at times tbh @mrsjb dd managed to wear some of her oufits but not for the whole day we tended to start out in costume in the morning and since we had her buggy i would carry a thinner dress or shorts and tshirt and she would get changed if she was too hot.her tinkerbell costume, alice, jasmin and minnie mouse costumes were the ones she could withstand the heat in.

we'll be going at the end of june this year so hoping the weather will more comfortable.i wouldnt go without a pac a mac each to pop under the buggy, buggy raincover, bottle of diluting juice,an adapter plug and some good colouring pencils/felt tips etc as there are colouring pictures at breakfast but never seem to be enough pencils :confused3

DLP weather isn't too dissimilar to the weather in London, so if you have ever been to London at that time of year, you probably know what to expect.

We went 2nd week of July 2 years ago, and it was the middle of a heatwave (above 30C every day). But it was no different to London, where we spent a few days before going.

We are going again 10-14th July this year (and will be in London from 4-10 July before), and will be taking a mixture of jeans, shorts and T-shirts, with the odd jumper/cardie thrown in just in case.

We have also bought some 'kags-in-a-bag' for our holiday this year - last time we took our rain jackets just in case, but we never used them in the end at any point during our holiday (in both London and DLP) and you just end up lugging them around in your luggage.

One suggestion I would make is to not believe the weather forecasts too much posted in the hotels. When we went they were overly pessimistic about the chances of rain (3 days they said we would get rain showers, and we didn't) and also tended to under-predict the temperature. We used the long range weather forecast on Metcheck before we left (www.metcheck.com - it gives forecasts up to 14 days in advance) and we found that was more accurate than the more up to date hotel forecasts.

Last year we went across the end of May/beginning of June. At the beginning of the week it was dry but a bit chilly - long trousers and t shirts with cardis sort of weather. By the end of the week it was in the high 20's and easily shorts/tshirt weather. This year we are going the same week and are taking t shirts and cardis and a selection of bottoms to wear depending on the weather. We also always take raincoats sunhats and sunglasses to cover all possibilities.:goodvibes

a pair of very comfortable shoes!!! We also would never go without diluting juice, and some refillable drinks bottles, and some small snacks to occupy kids while waiting in queues - eg little packs of fruit pastles, boxes of raisins - not chocolate as it will melt. Pick up a spare pack map at the entrance, because they always get lost very easily!

We were there in June last year and there was a flash thunderstorm, which apparently are quite common that time of year - started off grey in the morning, was quite cold and windy by the time we got to the gates, 1st drop of rain as we got inside, followed by 20 mins of torrential rain, thunder and lightening, then stopped like someone turned the tap off! The clear for 1 hour, then another shower, after that it was lovely all day! It was great because loads of people left after the second shower, and the park was really quiet.

Thanks for that Princessofpink :thumbsup2 I thought it may be boiling so i have bought loads of little rara dresses with either minnie mouse or snow white on plus short sleeve t shirts and skirts/shorts, She has the tinkerbell costume and a pink minnie mouse one i got from tesco which is quite light that she will probably be able to wear but im not so sure about the snow white, Cinderella and rapunzel ones but like you say i can always change her if it gets too hot :cool1:

Being a big coward I take waterproofs (we happen to have good quality folding ones) and jumpers/fleeces everywhere regardless of where/when we go - on my first few independent trips as an adult I seemed to specialise in going to places in heatwaves which then turned to thunderstorms/snow/hail as soon as I arrived(with hot weather gear but no waterproofs) so now I don't take any chances.
I also take some of the cheap ponchos as I can fit 5 of these into my handbag. As well as the disposable 'plastic bag' ones you can get in packs of 2 for around £1 Asda have now started selling more robust ones for £2 each.

I also have double socket adaptors and I'm considering getting 1 of the new adaptors that can charge 2 USB devices.

Basic medication (plasters, steristrips, headache, anti-diarrhoea etc)- the nearest chemist is at Val d'Europe I believe.

If your children like collecting things give each of them a zip/popper folder/pocket to keep all their tickets, freebies etc in. When mine were little I always took stickers with me, you'd never believe how many hours they spent playing with them, also mini Where's Wally, I-spy books, playing cards colouring pencils, notebooks for travel waits and spare moments at the hotel(despite everyone saying you only use your hotel for sleeping there will always be 1 child ready/awake before/after the others and it saves a few fractious moments.:lmao:
Lastly despite speaking 2 foreign languages and virtually everyone at DLP
speaking English I still always take a dictionary & phrase book. (I did say I was a coward!):rotfl2:
