What do I need to make sure I don't forget on my trip at end of April of this year? I'm going with 3 girls (8,6,2) and 1 boy (5). We're leaving from New Jersey? What's the weather like? I really want to make sure I don't forget anything. Thanks.

The weather will be warm, high 70's and higher. Sunblock, hats, sandals would be my top 3 suggestions. Other than that, pack like a normal trip, I'd assume. A double stroller can be a PITA, but DL doesn't have them, and with kiddos at 2 and 5 (I have kids the same age!), you may want to bring one along. That's kinda bulky for a cross country trip, though...

If you are flying, gate check the double stroller. We use ours as a pack mule. We load it down with our carry ons and at the park we keep our back pack on it. Sure you can rent a stroller at DLR but what do you use when the kiddos are tired and you have to walk back to the hotel? DD is too big to use a stroller but we all love it when we do DLR or WDW. She may be 18 and I'll still be telling her to get the stroller!

We can have some rain in April but its probably not going to be too much of an issue at the end of April. You might find the evenings chilly though so I would bring some light coats and maybe some long sleeves just in case.

Bring what you think you need and worse case scenario you are forced to buy some Disney gear! I mean the outlet is right up the way ;)

One great tip is to pack the kids whole outfit, including hair ribbon, matching sox into 1 gallon zip lock bags for each day, each child, then even DDad can dress the kids and get all the matching pieces dressed on the child.

So add 1 gallon zip lock bags to your list.

I like the zip locks to hold shampoos etc in, just in case they leak, I was going to suggest a day pack too but seeing how you have a two year old, I'm sure you have that covered!

Make sure you bring comfortable walking shoes. I made the mistake of wearing deck shoes (Zero arch support) the first time I went to one of the parks as an adult and my feet were killing me most of the trip.

Are crocs comfortable enough? My oldest daughter loves them and I was thinking of getting them for my other kids.

Depends. We bought Mickey Crocs at DL. My husband really liked his, mine gave me blisters... :sad2: My BFF swears by hers. So, we are bringing our Crocs, but also comfy standbys we can count on!

I love MY Crocs and wear them every time, but DS and his BFF both got blisters from theirs the last time we were there (a full day, but they have strollers!).

So he'll be wearing sneaks from now on, until he gets better at telling me when his feet hurt by using words and not whining. ;)

Try wearing a pair all day and see what happens. If no blisters, then you'll be in the clear!

I think you should pack a few pairs of shorts (or capris) because the weather will probably be in the mid to high 70's. Also, pack sunblock, sandals (but good quality), and a pair of good walking shoes. And... bring A HAT! The last time I went with my family almost every one got sunburned on their head, including me. It gets harder to enjoy your vacation when your scalp is itching and burning. :sad1: But I think you should pack a sweatshirt because nights at the park can get really cold.

~Hope this helps ;)

That's a great tip I've used for a few year now, especially with my dd who has so many accessories with each outfit. It makes life a little more efficient especially when trying to rush everyone out the door for ee/mm. Definitely add assorted size ziploc bags to your list. I don't think you can have too many ziploc bags; sandwhich size, quart size, gallon size.

My kids swear by crocs. They've worn them for the past 4 DL trips and live it in during the summer. I've yet to be adventurous enough to wear them.

When packing clothing, think layers. Early mornings and evenings may be bit chilly (Sweatshirts, light sweaters and light jackest) but afternoons can get pretty warm. Dd loves his pants that zip off into shorts. Dd loves dresses & skirts so we put her in tights and later remove them when it gets warmer."Quick dry" clothing also is a must for our family since we love wet rides like splash mountain and grizzly river run. Ds sometimes just wears his swim trunks if we plan to do reride a wet ride several times in one day.

I notices that you have 3 girls, if they have princess costumes at home bring those too. DD loves to dress up like a princess when we go to DL. Buying them at the park can get quite spendy as each princess dress is $50+. I picked some up at the disney store and disneyshopping when they have their sales. If your son has a costume too, bring it along.

Sunscreen, hats, purell, wipies, and tissue. Oh yeah, I also carry a tide stick pen in my purse, especially with my kids. It just comes in handy with those little spills on clothes.

Don't forget to pack something to keep your kids occupied in lines. Our kids bring their ipods, which I hold in my purse when not in use, and it works wonders. We download audiobooks on it for them as well as disney movies and tv shows. The electronic game 20 Questions is also one of our family favorites.

Also, don't forget cold/fever medicine for children. Dd got sick on one of our trips. She had a fever on the 4th day of our 5 day tip. We thought she had the flu. Luckily we had a rental car and could drive to the store and pick up a thermometer and medicine. We ended up taking her to the doctor's when we got home and she was diagnosed with walking pneumonia.

Whew, that's about all i can think of.

I agree with this one here, just experienced it last week when my DSis got sick while at DL. I had my children's aspirin and was able to give it to her when she had a headache. One thing I forgot was some type of children's pepto for tummy aches. Well definitely bring next time.

Definitely Pack a PURELL for everyone!! It will cut down on the colds and flu. Have everyone use it before meals, too!! They have small bottles that attach to any loop.

Thank you all. I will definitely look into googling for the list. Don't know why I didn't think of it. I google everything:)

We were in Disneyland a few years ago during spring break and it was cold! We brought a few sweatshirts and light wind-breaker type jackets for evenings but we needed them all day. In fact we bought warmer coats while we were there. My DS who was 4 at the time wore socks on his hands to keep them warm. We wanted to buy gloves but they were no where to be found. We never did use the pool. No Mickey Bars that trip, lots of hot cocoa though. I think that type of weather is unusual but we sure learned our lesson and now we pack for anything if we are not going in the middle of summer.

Thank you all for you tips. I also went one time to WDW and they had unseasonably cold weather. We froze at night and had to buy gloves and hats for our kids and me. Great souvenirs though:)
