what to pack to the parks?

What are the essentials to the parks, and mind you this is an a relatively small sling bag. Thanks.

I really try to keep it to a minimum!!! Here's what I always take...

Small ziplock with a few bandaids and small neosporin
Small hand sanitizer
Small sunscreen

I keep our passes in my pocket, along with my Visa and a little cash...

- Annual Pass
- photo id
- some cash
- comb
- camera (DW usually carries this)
- sun screen
- water bottle with neck strap
- sometimes a small notepad with pen for taking notes for trip reports, or making notes the night before of a touring plan

I usually wear pants in the parks, so no packing pants for me!
I carry a small bag too. In it:

room key
photo id
money
long sleeve shirt for the evening
sunscreen
water bottle
band aids
rubber bands for my hair.

My friends usually put their stuff in my bag too, so a small bag quickly becomes stuffed. We all take turns carrying it though!

Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. I carry nothing with me to the parks. In my billfold I carry my room key card, a credit card, one's usual billfold cards, a little cash, and my annual pass.

It is much more enjoyable to stroll around the parks when not trying to keep up with a bunch of stuff.

No offense, but you sound suspiciously like my husband/sons/various relatives who say, "Here! Stick this in your backpack!" and then claim to carry nothing into the parks! (While I go through the search-your-bag line and they wait impatiently!)

Take ziploc bags in a couple of sizes and a pack of baby wipes, no matter how old the "baby" is!

Baby wipes (handi wipes) AND deoderant wipes if your going in the summer. amazing little buggers!!

I also fill a little bottle with several different things - aspirin, benedryl, dramamine, pepto tablets. You get the idea. Seems like someone always needs something, but doesn't want to take the time to go search around for it.

Also, I take one of those bug bite sticks. If there's something out there that bites, my youngest will get bit!
