Heading to WDW for October 3-13th at AS Sports and not sure how much to bring. This is the 1st time our kids won't sleep at home so we have yet to pack for a long trip. We are driving so will be packing the car for this trip. We have a DD that is 3 and DS that is 4. I know sometimes at home we can go through a couple of outfits in a day so I'm not sure how much to pack. How do you figure out how many outfits per person? I can figure out me and my DH but the kids I'm not so sure. I am planning on doing at least a couple loads of laundry mid trip so I know I don't need to pack the kitchen sink but advice welcome please.
So far I know I am bringing for each kid:
* 2 prs of pajamas - I'm sure sometimes they will fall asleep in their shorts and tshirts so I think more than this might be overkill?
* 1 sweatshirt or jacket
* 10 prs of underwear and socks? - is this enough for toddlers - both potty trained
* 2 bathing suits
* sun hat for each
Major decision is how many shorts, pants, shirts????
And how many pairs of shoes - just sneakers or sandals too???

I always over pack but I'm getting better.

I pack almost enough outfits for the whole trip but since I can do laundry, if I'm going for 7 days, I pack 5 outfits(plus they'll have what they were wearing on the trip down as well). Same with underwear and socks.

I've never been cold in October. Never needed pants or sweatshirts so one set is good. It should still be hot and great!

One bathing suit each is find, IMHO. Same with the pajamas.

You may want to bring or buy ponchos when you arrive. It doesn't rain as much in October as August and September but it could rain.

And remember, you'll might buy souvenir clothes as well so they can be outfits too! We've worn our souvenir shirts while still down there.

I hope I help a little bit!! I know it's really tough not to overpack!! Good luck!

I have 4 kids and for me, packing can take all day (literally). I always overpack, and tend to bring everything including pump soap and toddler wet wipes :rotfl: I even have a comprehensive to pack list so I don't forget anything.....I can post it for those who need a good laugh :goodvibes

My motto is---always anticipate catastrophes. I always make sure to pack everything from Motrin for fevers to Pepto for stomachaches to extra undies for accidents and everything in between. Did I mention it takes me all day to pack? :rotfl: It's a good thing we usually drive to our vacation destinations :banana:

ETA that I would bring at least 2 bathing suits, and enough clothes to get you through the days you are there plus 2. Bring at least 2 pairs of shoes. Oh and 2 pairs of pajamas per kid in case someone has an accident. Also be sure to pack things like film and suncscreen that cost an arm and a leg at the parks. And if you plan on doing laundry, bring some laundry detergent! :smooth:

OMG! I too make a list for my list. We are going for 10 nights and I was planning on taking at least 2 outfits a day for my kids. Granted they are small and still messy.
