Leaving for our first December Disney trip in a couple of days.

I would like to pack as lightly as possible, but I'm really undecided about what kind of clothes to pack for this time of year.

Any suggestions from veterans? Should I pack mostly jeans with long and short sleeve shirts and a light jacket, or do I need shorts and t-shirts for the days and Jeans and long sleeves for the evenings?

Since we need to pack 5 people in the car for the airport and don't have room for a lot of luggage my dh and I are doubling up so the 3 girls (ages 23, 25 & 26) can pack their own suitcases. Can't ask girls that age to skimp on items. haha

Look forward to any feedback!

The three years we went at Christmas we went Christmas week and we needed everything from tank tops, bathing suits, and shorts to mittens, hats, winter coat. pack for layering - You will be there a couple of weeks earlier than we went but it is better to be safe than sorry. One year I wore a tank top, long sleeved turtle neck shirt, sweater, winter jacket, gloves and mickey ears Christmas hat one day and two days later was enjoying the SAB pool in my bathing suit.

On days where the high is 70 or lower, it will be warm in the sun but cold in the evening. Some days are showing highs of 81, you could wear shorts for the day. I would bring a mix.

Average temps: December 73º F

We went about 3 years ago, and it was 80 and sunny every single day. It was unbelievably beautiful. However, it gets much cooler in the evenings. The same week, we went to MVMCP. I wore jeans, a sweatshirt, and tied a jacket around my waist and by the end of the night, I needed it.

Like the PP said, take a little of everything so you can layer! :thumbsup2

I'm here now :cool1: Arrived in town Saturday and it was a beautiful 79, definitely shorts weather. Sunday was warm but stormy (gotta love tornado warnings on vacation). Monday I wore capris and a t-shirt all day and threw on a sweatshirt in the evening, same Tuesday except I wore jeans. Cold front came in today and the high was 59. Jeans & sweatshirt all day. Tomorrow & Friday are supposed to be back to mid-upper 70's.

My best advice is bring a little of everything and plan to do some laundry :goodvibes

We were there a few weeks ago. The day high was mid 70 although a few days the high was 63. We were really comfortable during the day in shorts and sweatshirts, at night we were long pants, winter coats and gloves a few nights. Have fun though!! It is warm and sunny

LAYERS are your friend! We went last January and had low-mid 50's with wind to low 70's during the daytime...we had storms & rain...COLD at night... You will likely find the mornings and evenings chilly. Take coats with zip out linings if you have them so that you have a choice in layers...gloves...convertible zip off pants if you have them...only 1 bathing suit each...1 pr. of flip flops for the pool...2 sweatshirts...2 T-shirts / short sleeve tops...a pr. of warm socks...jeans, capris & shorts - only a couple each - you can easily wear your bottoms more than once and one extra pr. of comfy shoes. I got all 3 of us into 1 carry-on & 1 large 30" duffle bag for 4 nights! You can do it if you're selective!!

All of the parks have locker rentals at the front - I think $10 / day with a $5 refund when you return the key...and if you park hop you take your receipt to the next park & only pay once. We started out the mornings with coats & by mid-morning often were ready to shed a layer so we stuffed our coats into the locker...then we needed them again in the evenings so they were handy. The locker plan was great for this time of year!

Yep. You are exactly right. It is COLD here this morning but it's warming up quickly.

I'd come prepared for anything. I wore layers at MVMCP last night and was comfortable but it was COLD and I'm from NC where is was 23 this morning so it's not like I'm not use to it.

Back to the mid-70s for the rest of the week after today. The temps are all over the place.

I leave on Sat, for 10 days at WDW/DCL. I usually fly in a pair of jeans, turtleneck, sweatshirt, heavyish socks and a windbreaker. Once on the plane, the windbreaker comes off. During the flight, the socks come off, now it's just Crocs on the feet. When I get to MCO, I take off the sweatshirt and sometimes the turtleneck and replace it with a short sleeved shirt. The rest goes into my carryon bag.
That way, I have heavier clothes if I need them, especially at night. When the sun goes down, the temps drop like crazy. I usually wear either capris at night or my jeans. During the day, it's a short sleeve shirt under a sweatshirt. As it gets warmer, the sweatshirt comes off and gets tied around my waist.
When it's time to fly home, the jeans, turtleneck and sweatshirt combo comes back out!
