The thread for the 2010 Disney Mom's Panel has been discussing the delightful area in EPCOT where at night the ground under your feet lights up with stars and geometric designs.
We have searched the recesses of our brains and have come up with 12 choices.
Will you please help us pick to great name by choosing your favorite?

Please note that there are two distinct places In EPCOT that have these lights in the ground.

If you are unfamiliar with these areas, here are some pictures of them.

I hope I don't sound rude, but I don't like any of the choices. I just don't view Epcot as having anything to do with Tinkerbell or pixie dust or what not. It's more of a futuristic innoventive theme and I would probably go with a name that reflects that image instead....."Pathways into Tomorrow" or "Imagination Highway" or something like that.....or just stay away from a "cutesy" name-cutesy and Epcot just don't mix.

I hope I didn't sound rude-just wanted to give you an honest opinion!:flower3:

None of the above. Too cutesy. This is Epcot, not Pixie Hollow.

Also not meaning to offend, but I don't think any of the names fit for the same reason. The areas have always been magical for us and have never needed a name. I don't think Epcot needs anything Pixie or Tink, really. That's for MK. If anything it should be something futuristic and not cutesy.

No offense taken at all. In fact that is an interesting thought.

Many of us felt that the lights reminded us of TinkerBell and the Fairy Garden that is part of The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival in the Spring.

We were also trying to come up with two names since there are two different areas with lights.

This was my first thought also. When I think of Epcot, I don't think of fairies or pixie dust, that's more a Magic Kingdom theme in my opinion. :flower3:

Foot paths to tomorrow
the pathways of tomorrow

Ummmm...wellllll...since you did ask, I really dislike them all. I guess I don't think it's necessary to seemingly tie in almost everything around WDW with pixies and the latest direct-to-DVD Tinkerbelle movie. Only two of the choices don't specifically mention pixies, Tink or a pixie-animal (dragonfly).

I guess I also don't think it's necessary to name the area at all. That's part of the wonderfulness of WDW - all the anonymous places and little touches that charm their way into guests' hearts and memories.

agnes!

Honestly don't like any of them. Some don't make sense, and the others are way too cutesy for Tomorrowland.

Agreed.

Sounds like there should be at least another choice in this thread's Poll, something along the lines of "Nothing at all" or "None of the above".

None...why do they have to be named at all? And if for some reason they have to be named...why tink and pixie stuff?

Please don't. A lot of what makes WDW magical is unexpected delights. Don't princess-ize those fun lights that people discover on the way out of EPCOT. They don't need a name, they don't need a mention on the Mom's Panel, they don't need to be PLANNED, they don't really even need to be documented as an attraction or "best kept secret". It's starting to make me sick how all of the magical fun stuff is now on a list of must-sees.

MOM PANELISTS: Please leave this one alone. Exposing all the secrets isn't necessarily a good thing.

Sounds like a quote direct from the marketing dept of Disney.

Synergy.

As in: linking the new Tinkerbell movie to Epcot and the Flower and Garden Festival.

Disney marketing knows no bounds. Even the paycheck envelopes have ads on them.

I agree 100% with all that has been posted.

I LOVE the twinkling lights - it is so cool to see them when you're walking out of Epcot at night. One of the reasons why Epcot is my favorite park by far. :goodvibes

I held my breath when I started reading the reponses...terrified that there would be people thinking that any of those names would be fitting. Thank God I didn't have to sweep in here like the Grinch and put the kibash on them.

They are all TERRIBLE.

The day TINKERBELL gets any billing in Epcot (or frankly anywhere outside of Fantasyland), is the day Epcot starts to die a little.

Leave it alone moms. Though I bet you'll go ahead and name them anyway.
