What to look for when choosing an image for a DISign??

Hello DISigners! I was wondering, when looking at the myriad of images out there, how do I know if an image will be crisp enough to make a beautiful design? Is there a magic number for pixels or something to look for before working with an image? If three images are the same what should I look for to help me decide which one to use? Hi Hon

I always look for the largest and most clear images--my sons say i have TTTTTooooooooooo much clip art but i guess it's become a hobby with me --collecting it.
Some DISigning is trial and error,,but addictive all the same.
Now most of the DISigners here use Photoshop etc and I only use paint.net so maybe their clip art requirements are different.
Give it a shot--we can always use another DISigner here---choose something you'd like and go with it.
