what to expect

Going to disney in 16 days. Just me and the boys. We are leaving from Pitts to Orlando, I did get ME. Tell me when I get off the plane, what do I do? Do I need to look for the ME? Do they come get us? Do I need to get all of the baggage? And say when I get to the hotel, All Sports, can we check in and then go to DTD? And will they deliver my things to our room while we are gone?

NO, you do NOT have to get luggage. Disney will do that for you. In your final packet they will send brightly colored tags for you to place on ALL luggage.

I think it may take up to 2 hours for your luggage to get to you though and if you head to the parks it will be stored for you.

So you don't have to go to the carasel (SP?) and get your luggage at all? That would make me nervous to leave the airport with no luggage.... does it really work??? We are flying Spirit, is it the same for all airlines?

this is why i just cant bring myself to use ME, it makes me too nervous. but from what i hear for the most part they are pretty good at getting that luggage to you.

If you go to the transportation forum, they list the airlines that participate.
We have done ME twice now & it's so nice! You fly in & go to Disney's counter. It is hard to find & I recommend asking someone. You DON'T pick up your bags. Disney does it for you. Make sure you have a carryon or 2 w/you so you have any things/supplies you need right away. You will be put on a bus to your resort & your bags will be delivered to your room usually w/in 3 hrs.

We have used Magical Express three times before and it's wonderful! Disney sends you special luggage tags to put on your luggage. You put those tags on your luggage and check your bags at your local airport. You arrive in Orlando and skip the baggage claim. Go to the Disney Welcome Center (Level 1 “B” Side). Look for the Disney staff to point you in the right direction...they will be waving their hand with a large Mickey glove. Once you get to the Disney Welcome Center you check in at the counter. You then get on an air-conditioned bus. We had to wait about 15-20 minutes for other passengers to board but it was air-conditioned, comfortable and roomy seats, and they played a Disney movie or cartoon to entertain the little ones. During the ride a video is shown ‘welcoming you to WDW’ and explains the check-in, check-out process. Once you reach WDW the bus will go directly to the resort (I believe we stopped at another resort before ours). Once you get off the bus you check in at the hotel. You are given your room keys/park tickets (they are all in one on a card). You can then hop onto a bus heading to one of the parks. We usually go to Magic Kingdom and grab a bite to eat. When we return to the hotel our luggage is already in our room. It’s very easy. A day or two before your check out day you will be notified of the time for the bus ride back to the Orlando airport. You can check your luggage and receive your boarding pass at the Disney resort when you check out. I really recommend it.
