what to expect on FP selection night

Even though we have our FPs set, my wife and I have vowed to not stress over missing FP rides. We are there to enjoy our time, not worry about missing out on things. Dragging a weary three year old through the parks is not fun (as we've learned from past trips).

To that end, there may be times that we need to reschedule our FPs with the mobile app. I see this being a non-possibility unless the FP I want to reschedule is one that was made for all 6 of us to begin with. I see this as just another downside to the new FP system.

So if 3 people our in my family, and 3 of us want to ride the ride, I get 3 FP for each ride , correct? So I have the option of 3 FP ride selection, but any amt of people?

I didn't stress over mine either. I missed a few, but by mid week I cancelled all my ADRs and fps and just relaxed. We had done all the "must dos" by then. I got reservations for my whole party, then I went in and changed the attraction for the party members not wanting to ride the same things, then I changed the times for those family members. I was able to change quite a bit on the fly. We cancelled a whole day out (AK - the day before) then I went back in and set up fps for a party of 3 for Epcot. (3 of the 6 of us decided to go over to USO). We were going to miss Soarin, so I was able to cancel it and book later (the day of). There will be some things you don't want to give up (A&E, 7DMT, TSMM, Wishes, MSEP, FoF Parade etc and I regret giving up Cinderella and Rapunzel). The rest you can pretty much get. What I did was I played with it. I pretended I was at the park (in October, when in fact I was going in December), and I would check and see what was available for the next day, or 2 days. You'd be surprised what pops up at the last minute.
Main thing, just have fun. A lot of people aren't crazy about being planned months ahead (I'm one of them) and I found it much less stressful and a whole lot more fun when I cancelled the latter part of my trip.

Each person who has a ticket linked in MDX can get 3 prebooked FPs per day. Answers to FP FAQs like yours can be found in the green link in my signature.

Did you try choosing the new attraction? I think once you chose the replacement attraction the box to choose the individuals for whom you wanted to change popped up. Not 100%sure.

This is correct. After you select the new attraction, there are checkboxes where you tick off who you want to change it for. All members of the party are checked by default. You can also change the time on the same screen and have both the new experience and new time applied to the checked riders.

I think it's worth it to play around a bit with the system with FPs you wouldn't mind losing, just to learn the system. I too wouldn't do it with A&E. :)

Bumping this up in case anyone wants to see the excellent walk-through linked on the first page.
