Hello! First time staying in a DVC property. We are staying for 8 nights in a studio at Kidani Village. What should I expect to be stocked in the room as far as silverware (or plastic ware), drinking glasses, shampoo, soap, cleaning products, etc.? I know the amenities that come with the room (microwave, toaster, etc.) but keep seeing conflicting things on what's stocked in them.
Thanks in advance!

It has been a couple of years since we've stayed at Kidani Village, but we are going back in May. We love it there! The studio kitchenettes are stocked with paper plates, plastic forks, 4 glasses, and 4 coffee mugs. I do not recall the number of plates or forks. Also, they have dishwashing liquid, a dish sponge, and paper towels. The bathroom has shampoo, body wash, conditioner, and lotion. Also, extra towels, wash cloths, and toilet paper. Everyone is so nice there. I'm sure if you need more of anything it would not be a problem.

There should be 4 glasses & 4 mugs, a hand can opener, a cork screw. There should be plastic knives, forks & spoons but there are rarely ever exactly the same number of each no matter which resort you stay at. They leave some paper Plates & Paper Bowls but the number is inconsistent. We are currently on a split stay at OKW & BWV where we had only 2 knives & three spoons & a bunch of forks @ OKW & 4 spoons, 3 knives & a few more forks @ BWV. You should have at least one dish towel, paper towels, a small sponge, small bottle of dish washing liquid. They are suppose to replenish the paper goods but many times they don't and you will need to call housekeeping to request replacements as needed if they don't replenish on Trash & Towel &/or Full Cleaning days. If you need more of the previously listed items housekeeping should supply them free of charge. We usually will grab extra knives, forks & spoons at QS places to take back to our room if we feel we need more but we always request more Plates & Bowls when we need them. For the following items that should be in the studio in the following quantities when you check in & they are supposed to be replaced in the same quantities on Trash & Towel day &/or Full Cleaning day. There should be at least one packet of coffee for the coffee maker but sometimes they leave two or a packet of regular & a packet of decaf, sometimes there are a couple of tea bags. There should also be some sugar, sugar substitute & non dairy creamer packets either loose or in grouped packages. There should be one bottle each of Shampoo, Conditioner, Body wash, & Body lotion, 1 bar of bath soap & 1 bar of facial soap. They normally supply 4 bath towels, 4 wash cloths & 2 hand towels. These should all be replaced or replenished on trash & towel days & full cleaning days. According to the contract if you request extras of any of these items they are supposed to charge you & there is listing somewhere of what the charges are. They are supposed to charge you if you request extra towels in addition to what they normally supply. The same is true if you ask for extra coffee service supplies or toiletry items. We routinely make a call to call housekeeping to request any items that weren't replenished properly during Trash & Towel Service &/or Full Cleaning Service. We also request Toilet Paper, Tissues, Trash Can liners, Paper Towels as needed. When you request items that they are supposed to charge you for they usually don't but don't be surprised if they do. Some things may vary slightly from one resort to the next but they usually are accommodating if they can be when you make a request.

The posters above did a great job covering your question...I just wanted to add, we stayed in a studio at Kidani Aug. 2014 and loved it!

If you are staying on a DVC points reservation, your villa will be like karrit2000 stated. If you are staying on a cash reservation through Disney Reservation Center, you will get daily full cleaning and replacement of your supplies.

For a points stay (or a cash reservation through DVC), you will get service every four days. If you stay seven nights or less, your trash will be removed and towels and expendables replaces on day four. If you stay eight nights or more, you will get a full cleaning on day four and trash removed and towels replaced on day eight. If you stay longer, the cycle repeats. Plus on DVC reservations, if you request additional towels, shampoo, soap, conditioner, you will be charged for those. DVC members pay for everything they get at the DVC resorts. You can purchase an extra towel pack (four bath towels, two hand towels, four face cloths and a tub mat) for $6. You can also purchase extra cleaning.
