Can anyone give me an idea what we can expect in October. Crowd size, weather, how long to wait for rides, etc. We will be there from Oct 5 - 12. I still have a bit of time to make my PS. Do you think I will actually need them. What is the chance of just "walking in" and getting something?

Crowds are very manageable, except perhaps on the weekends since the Food and Wine Festival will be occuring during Oct. and part of Nov. so the locals hit EPCOT for that. The weather USUALLY is getting pleasant, although more so towards the end of the month. I would make some PS's for anything that you REALLY want to do especially if it is on the weekend. I find Oct. to be one of the best months to visit the world! Check out the concert schedule to see if there are any bands that you would like to catch at EPCOT during that time.

I was going to tell you how awful it is (for crowd control, ya know ;) ) But, since you're going the week before us, I'll tell you the truth.

October is a wonderful month. Taylor Dayne is supposed to be performing while we're there. Check out allearsnet.com to see who'll be in Epcot while you're there. I hope she shows up because we were supposed to see her when she was in Aida on Broadway and she wasn't there that day. I like some of her songs.

The F&W Festival is wonderful, and if you can, get tickets to MNSSHP. That party is so much fun and so many of the rides were walkons after the fireworks last time we were there.

You're going to LOVE October!

Thanks so much! I have read other posts that people have gone in October expecting it to be quiet and the were SURPRISED :earseek: that it was totally busy! They had me scared there for a minute.

thanks so much for all the info. we too are first timers for october and so excited.

We were there this past year for Halloween after we got off the WONDER.... It was busy, but not overlycrowded....We never really waited more that 10-15 minutes for anything. We used fast pass if waits were more than 30 minutes...;)

If you get a chance go to MNSSHP at MK while you are there. That was a lot of fun. We made the mistake of going on Halloween night  It was very busy (SOLD OUT),but we still really enjoyed our selves. The lines were not long, but LOTS of people:crowded: Everywhere...Ecspecially on Mainstreet USA.

We managed to see both parades and the kids trick or treated. Lots of neat costumes and the park was fixed up so cool for Halloween. If you can go to a party early in the month it would be perfect!!!

We also did MGM while we were there and it was not bad at all. We had a blast...

Good luck with your planning. Also the weather was near perfect! It was hot,but not really that humid like Summer time. The party that night it was about 70 degrees and a perfect evening. Have fun!:teeth:

i was at wdw late sept to oct 4 last year and found the oct. time period to be fantastic. waits in line were limited except for very few. tot, r n r,
the weather was still warm, the high was 86 on one day, the rest a tad lower. no rain. just a great time to go. from oct 4 for 6more days i stayed at hard rock hotel and did universal/ioa.
weather still wonderful.
you will definetly enjoy being in orlando at this time period.
i loved it so much i will be there oct 1- 14 this fall.

hi all:wave:
sorry to jump in on your thread lisaes:D we are going to be at wdw from the 11th-25th what will the weather and crowds be like during this time frame:D

thanks eve::MinnieMo

Managable crowds. You'll find that a lot of your neighbors will be there at that time, UKTigger. That's about the time we were there two years ago. There were a lot of British and German visitors then because of school holidays. We'll be there from the 15th to the 24th this year. I'm hoping that the crowds will be about the same as last time.

:wave:RUDisney:wave:

thank you for your reply::yes:: i can cope with managable:D
