My brother and family are being transferred to Texas, Corpus Christi area from Canada.

Having no idea what to expect for airfares to WDW, what is a decent rate?
Looking at early January.....specifically 8th to the 14th :thumbsup2

Continental is showing direct flights from houston to orlando $1600.00 return
2 adults, 2 children

Thanks so much

:thanks:

I generally pay ~$300 pp from San Antonio. You should take a look at Southwest when they come out with those dates. I generally find them the cheapest.

We fly continental from Houston and have flown Southwest. Normally it is between $240 to $360 per ticket for both airlines. Flying out of San Antonio can normally be a little cheaper.

We paid $100 on American for our flight from DFW to MCO. We have free airfare on Southwest for our flight home, but that flight seems to be a high one. About $200 a person, plus any bags on other airlines.

Same here! We got our Air Tran flights for our May rip for $149.00 r/t, but that's the cheapest we've found for the last several years. For the last year we've been finding them $180.00-$192.00 r/t. Flying out of DFW, I usually buy them when they drop below $220.00 as that's where they seem to hover around the most. We always seem to get Air Tran a little cheaper than American, but do fly American sometimes if we catch the price right.

I am in south texas as well. I live in Laredo now but am familiar with your area as I went to college in Corpus. IF you fly out of Corpus you have only 3 airlines to pick from SWest, American, or Continental. Usually flying from corpus is more money but you could find a good deal on SW. The other option is to drive 2 hours to Laredo maybe fly Allegiant Air which flies into Sanford ( about 45 mins outside of Orlando) like we are and got great rates. We got intro rates of $55 each way so for family of 4 was $600 when you add in on the nickel and dime fees of assignd seats, checkd bags, trip insurance etc was %800 for 4. OR you can drive 3 hours to San Antonio. You can fly American,Cont., Airtran, Delta, SW from there. I have signed up for airfare watches at www.airfarewatchdog.com
that is a good sight. It gives you email updates in with price drogs etc. Also sign up for the airlines email programs directly and you can get info on when sale rates will b issued coupons etc that way. Best of luck. Hope you enjoy Texas :)

I just booked our flights from San Antonio to Orlando. It was $260 pp round trip. Booked for June.

Laredo has some relatively decent fares to WDW. What has us shaking our heads is that, although we live further east from Laredo (due South of Corpus in the RG Valley), it would be cheaper for us to drive 3 1/2 hours west to fly out of Laredo to WDW. San Antonio also has a pretty good variety and pretty good airfare. Sadly, even though Corpus only has 3 airlines and the lack of competition makes for pretty high prices, we're in worse shape-only 2 airlines at our airport!

Simba.... Where are you from? Yes they have some good rates sometimes out of Laredo. There was a special thru Allegiant for $55 intro fares both ways so we booked. They also have a special right now that you buy a 4 night hotel stay and one full airfare the second person goes for $16.99 plus taxes. It might be something to look into if you have a trip planned. Laredo only has 3 airlines but you can find good deals sometimes. Sign up for www.airfarewatchdog.com get really good rates that way sometimes :)

Harlingen, over near Brownsville. DS lives in Laredo -actually he just started working for the airport there.

Today I am seeing AA and Airtran from DFW are about the same $110-118/pp each way. All the SWA cheap fares are gone already for the dates/times I want.

I don't really know what to do. I've only ever flown SWA. :confused3
