We are leaving for our trip to Disney on April 10th. 4 days at BCV, 2 days at Animal Kingdom Lodge then 4 days at Vero Beach. :rotfl:

Can't wait to get out of this cold here in frozen NY. I can't wait to feel that warm Florida sun! :sunny:

My question is what should we expect at Vero Beach? Is the boardwalk to the Beach there? Is there a Beach? I heard they were destroyed because of the hurricanes.

Thanks, Beth

We haven't been since the hurricane but from what I have read, it is OK. I saw some pictures and the beach is much wider. They brought in a lot of sand. The vegatation is lower so you can see the ocean better. The access to the water is in another place. You will have a great time. I am sure DVC really worked hard to fix all the problems. Let us hear how everything was when you get back.

We just returned from a week there last week of February. The just finished driving the piles for the new beach boardwalk entrance and was told it was supposed to be back up and running in the next few weeks. They had to fisnish before the turtle season.

If you have been to Vero before, little of the Resort (buildings and Pool area) has changed. What has changed dramatically is the beach itself. The resort lost about 20 ft of vegatation on top of the dune that seperated the the resort form the ocean. WOW what a change! I have pics if I get a chance I will post. The beach is MUCH MUCH nicer than the pre-hurrincane beach!!! The onlyt other dramatic change is that they moved the campfire location (a must do with kids).

All in all, still the beautiful/peaceful Vero Beach!

Enjoy, your vacation and have a frozen Strawberry Daquiri for me plz.
