We have never been to the Hoop De Doo Revue...dinner show...what can I expect?? Food? Characters? Dancing? Fun or not so fun?? I need the 411! Please help fellow DISers!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!!!

my family really enjoys the Hoop de du. We have done it 4 times over the last 7 years. My kids are still requesting it, but this year I am skipping, and doing the Luau again.
It is slapstick humor, the actors interact with the crowd, very funny. The food is good not gourmet, the salad, fried chicken and strawberry shortcake is very yummy, the rest for me is ok. If u have little ones u can ask for other options.
They take ur picture outside the hall and like other photo, they bring them to your table 4 viewing and purchase.

We find the best way to get there is the boat ride from Wilderness, the bus thru the campground can be grueling if u choose that route.

Hope this helps.

enjoy ur trip!

We've been to see Hoop Dee Doo 4 times and loved it each time. The characters in the show come out into the audience and interact with the guests during various parts of the show. Sure, the jokes are corny and the acting is overdone but we enjoy it immensely.

You'll be served salad, cornbread, ribs, fried chicken, ribs and cowboy beans. We liked everything except the beans.

I have pictures from the HDDR in my trip report. The link is in my signature below.

Thanks mickeystoontown (again! LOL) and Brook1099...

This is going to be fun! I know it's real casual...and the food is probably going to be also! My DS5 and his friend, also 5, will probably LOVE it! He's thinking just about ANYTHING is funny! Are there characters there or just actor/people??

I'll elaborate a little bit. When you check in and sit down, the salad and bread will either be waiting for you or the server will bring it soon after. They'll take your drink order and then after everyone is seated and settled in, the actors arrive. They put on a show for a little while and then bring out the chicken & ribs and the rest of the dinner stuff. The show stops for a little while so that you can eat with the lights on and then resumes again. Lastly they bring out the strawberry shortcake as part of the show and you finish up and go.

It's a cute show-something for everyone. The characters interact with the audience as people have said and everyone seems to really enjoy it.

It is a lot of fun. There are no Disney characters in the show, just actors/singers. The comedian is really funny.

We love the HDDR. We have been with 3 generations - and the little ones LOVED it, as well as adults only and we loved it.
The food is good "down home cooking" - salad and delicious corn bread, good fried chicken and ribs, corn beans and strawberry shortcake. Beer (Bud Light), wine and sangria are included.
The show is western themed and full of singing, dancing and corny jokes. The actors interact with the audience. It is lots of fun for everyone.
We like Cat 1 seating to be front and center on the floor, but others have reported that all Categories offer good seating.
Have Fun

This is very accurate! Except certain special audience members have to dance if their chosen as volunteers... :thumbsup2

Expect to have a great time! I didn't want to go my first time because it sounded dumb to me... well I loved it!!! Now i have been 5 times =) Enjoy!

The food is surprisingly delicious!!! The fried chicken and salad are my favorite and the unlimited wine and beer doesn't hurt either ;)
