My friend wants to go there for our girls night (it's her b-day so I feel I should let her pick). I've never been there but have looked online at the menu. Yikes.

Anyone have good advice on what to eat there.

I'm looking at the garden or turkey burgers (no mayo toppings or cheese) or the Red's rice bowl.

I don;t trust salads or wraps at all at these kind of places. They are so big and full of stuff that adds up fast. Many times the big salads are just as bad as the burgers.

I've been so good the last few days I actually nervous about going out..kind of like the alcoholic in a bar I guess!

So anyone know if what the differnce between garden and turkey???

thanks for any input.

Actually you do have a little control over salads even in a place like this. First my disclaimer - I have never eaten at this franchise.

Looking at salads and the two burgers you selected you could choose the apple salad and remove the cheese. Order the dressing on the side and you have a nice 500Kcal meal with 30 gm of protein and 40 gm of CHO. If you need to lower the Kcal a little more then kill the walnuts.

The big issue with the burgers is that the bun is H-U-G-E! Whole wheat of not it is a meal by itself. Kill the upper bun if you decide on a burger.

Drink lots of water. The sodium levels for everaything is well high

HAving eaten at Red Robin numerous times, I can recommend the turkey burger as better than a beef burger. BUT, get the grilled chicken instead and do even better. I do not like the buns, so I get the grilled chicken with guacamole, lettuce, tomato and onions. Pretty low on the calories, but still tasty.

The website is really nice for "customizing" your meal to find out the nutrition info. Play with it a bit and see how it turns out. They are really accomodating.

And as Coach Charles said, drink plenty of water. Everything there (as most any restaurant I find) is really high in sodium.

Enjoy and have a good time!

PS DH loves:love: the royal some pink. it is the only thing he gets there.
