What to do????

OK....Another question

We will be going to The world from Dec 11- 17. Today, I received a call from Fairfield resort, for a 3day/2night vacation in Daytona...I get to select the dates. So I figured we could go there from the 17th to the 19th. BUT....I have never been there, and have no Idea, if there is anything other than the Nascar stuff to do (we are not nascar people).

So has anyone ever been to Daytona...and if so...WHAT IS THERE FOR US TO DO....Me 29, DW25, DD4.......

PLEASE HELP....

I lived in Daytona for 5 years, 5 boring years! LOL Their beach is nice, but in Dec it might be too cold to do the beach....................They do have dog racing (like horse racing but only greyhounds) that you can bet on. It is alot of fun.
There is the Daytona speedway where you can go watch car racing, but most of the big races are during race week.
They have a huge, huge flea market that is open Friday, sat and sundays. And things like minature golf, movies, a shopping mall , just like anywhere else.
Its about an hours ride to the kennedy space center, that could be fun for a day trip. Other than that I`d only go during the warmer months, to use the beach.

I love it there it is my new favorite place to go, have no idea, I usually sit on the beach but not in Dec, lol I have no idea,

I live here now and I love it. Only a little over an hour to Disney, but back to the question. Marine Science Center (marinesciencecenter.com) they have live fish and other aquatic animals and are a sea turtle rescue center. Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, Look across to New Smyrna. Cruise on the Tiny Cruise Line (seen on Discovery Channel) or the Trolley Boats (Daytonatrolleyboatours.com). Rent a jet ski or boat on the river. Great golf, horsebackriding, Deep sea fishing, Museum of Arts and Sciences (moas.org), tennis, scuba diving, minature golf, rent a dunebuggy or golf cart and drive on the beach, parasailing, live theater and symphony society may have something going on. And of course Daytona USA (I am not a NASCAR fan and have never been there). You can always drive to St. Augustine about 45 minutes to the north along the ocean. Lots to do there also.
