We are working numbers for our 2006 trip and have decided to stay 8 days/7 nights. We are trying to figure out what is the best deal. These are as high as they are going to go number wise, we are hoping for some discount though.

There are 5 of us going 3 adults, 2 kids 4 and 2. We figured out for our family of 4 that the meal plan came out the cheapest being right around $3000. with out food 3367. This is assuming that we can feed son off of our two plates for each meal, which should not be a problem. If we opted to split our stay it was 3443 for AKL and CBR or 3235 for just CBR. To round out the rest of the budget I figured 500 for airfair, 50 for car rental(our share for one day) 67 for tickets to Kennedy Space Center. I also figured $1000 for food for 8 days, including eating breakfast in our room. We are planning on having a grocery delivery to the hotel and then sending a box of food down too with breakfast foods and some snacks.

First off, good for you for having a budget planned out a year in advance! lol Your much more organized than I am! :cool1: Also, did you calculate your share of gas for the rental car as well? You might want to overestimate that and guess that you'll be paying about $60 for gas during your stay. Thats probably high but it's always good to bring extra money rather than to run out of it. For 8 days your food for 4 people sounds doable, but I would skip the meal plan and just do it on your own since it seems cheaper that way from your calculations. Keep in mind as well, that during the day your family will wind up getting unexpected drinks from the heat if your going in the summer, or ice cream or other random things. Also did you alot things for your miscellaneous funding? Like souvenirs and such? Im sure you did as well and your budget sounds good. Depending on the time of year your going you might be able to get some extra discounts as well. WHat time of year are you guys going? Anyways great work!

Hi Bugsmom, how are you getting the price quotes? Did you get quotes from different online agencies or through Disney.com? Which type of room are you looking into at AKL? That is one of the resorts we are thinking of staying at on next trip, we loved the atmosphere and Boma, and I think the children's program would be great! Not to mention, we love AK itself! For having 5 people at CBR, did you have to get 2 rooms? We were going to stay there in '03, but ended up doing the Poly on the Fairytale pkg. We were also going to have 3 adults and 2 kids, and we would have had to book two rooms for the CBR, according to our agent. Which meal plan were you refering to that was cheaper? We are thinking of doing that too, just to have it all covered in advance. I'm excited for you!! Which month are you going? We love October, and that's why we would probably go back the same month in 2006. I love to plan!! :flower1: :cool1:
