My husband said we could go to DISNEY for a conference in December at the Contemporary, now we already have a Family Grand Gathering planned for Nov. 05' and have been Three times in the last two years. We have 4 boys 8,5,3,and1, I would probably leave the 1 year old but not quite sure about the 3 year old. What would you do?

I would absolutly take the 3yr old. I had a blast with our DD when she was 3. I can't give any advice about the 1 yr old because this is my first time taking a 1 yr old this year, so I can give advice on this in about 4 weeks after we return.

Have a good time:wave:

Why are you thinking about leaving the 1 year old home? How long will your DH be in conferences on any given day? I've been reading posts on how successful most have been with 24 months olds at Disney World.

Maybe you should also post your question on the Disney for Families board. There are lots of mothers on that board who have small children and maybe they can give you some good advice. :)

We went last summer with our 1 year old and 3 year old, and again this summer with them at age 2 and 4. The youngest definitely appreciated it more this year.

If I had 4 kids and 2 trips to Disney World, I would probably leave the one year old behind on your December trip. He won't know the difference. The 3 year old might--mine would at that age. If you left him behind also then you and the two older boys could do a lot of rides that the 3 year old probably can't. You also won't have to worry about naps, strollers, and keeping track of all those kids by yourself while your husband is in meetings. I hope to stay at the Contemporary someday when my kids are a little older--have fun!!

We took our 1 year old in May and it was great! He absolutely loved everything - the rides, the shows, the characters, the pool, the fireworks and parades, etc. He was so happy just riding around in his stroller and sling and taking it all in. When he got sleepy, we just leaned the stroller back and he took a nice nap. I don't think he fussed more than 5 minutes the whole week long trip. He even did great on the airplane. I will say, though, that he has a very happy, easy going personality to start with. Also, he was still nursing (and still is), so it was really easy to just feed him any time any place.

We're taking him back in December and he will be 20 months old. I'm thinking this trip will actually be much harder, since he is really mobile now and might not want to spend so much time in the stroller.

Anyway, I would definatley take the one year old. I bet he'll be much easier than the three year old! :p

How could you bear to leave a child behind? It would break my heart.

I look at each visit as its own experience. You will never get another chance to experience WDW with all the kids at these ages so take them all and enjoy it. There will be plenty of other trips when the kids are older, and older yet, and finally without them. Then, hopefully, with the grandkids.

Don't worry about what they will or won't remeber, you sure will. And the videotape proof will wow them when they are older. Just imagine watching the home video of the whole family at WDW except you, because you were left at home.

Don't pass up an opportunity like this.
