My dh now says he wants to leave Alabama and head to Disney on Dec. 29 (Monday) instead of New Year's Eve. We have annual passes. This is only the 3rd time he's added more days to beginning of our trip! HA!

Anyways, we have ressies at the Pop Century for Dec. 31- Jan. 5. Where should/could we stay Dec. 29 and 30 before we check in at the Pop? There is no availability on Disney's website for anything but some big ol' suites for these dates so it looks like off site.

Where is a hotel that is close and under $130.00 per night??? Any suggestions?

Travelzoo had a room at Rosen Shingle Creek, Orlando, for 79.00 per night but I know nothing about offsite hotels. Is it close?? Will we rack up big fees in parking and resort fees here or anywhere??

What would you recommend at this late date for booking a place to stay for those two nights?? If it helps we are two adults and a 4 year old boy. Thanks!

We like to drive down the day before our ressies. This trip (2 weeks ago) we stayed at Buena Vista Suites. 2Q beds in the BR and a sofa sleeper in the LR. Pool & hot tub, buffet breakfast (not the best but it was ok), 5 minutes from Disney all for $88.

Very nice resort & inexpensive :goodvibes

Ken Price and vacationupgrades.com have come highly recommended on this board (look under Bonnet Creek). According to the site, you can get a 1BR for $90 if they have availability. It might be worth checking into. :thumbsup2

I like to stay in the Lake Buena Vista area.

I have stayed at the Courtyard Lake Buena Vista and all three hotels at the Marriott Village there. Never had a problem.

That said theres a poster on the resort board cancelling 12/28 to 12/31 at Pop tonight! Rooms may open up!

The Rosen Shingle Creek is a lovely hotel. I attended a conference there in June and was impressed with the conference areas. The RSC website is quoting $149 for your nights, so $79 is a great price.

We stayed at the Vistana (thanks Maria :thumbsup2 ) and the Rosen Shingle Creek was about 10 minutes or so from the Vistana making it about 20 minutes from Disney's gates.

Anyway, congratulations on getting a couple of extra days on your APs.

Have a great time!
