We are going to DL from Oct 30th-Nov 1st. My friend knows someone who works there and has offered to sign us in for free. Which sounds cool but we are at his mercy. I have a very strict schedule I like to follow (especially on a Saturday). He already said he could not sign us in for early entry on Saturday morning and if something comes up we might have to wait for him to sign us in. I know I would be saving $140 but part of me wants to say thanks but no thanks....what would you do:confused3

I would probably just buy my own ticket....I'm also the type of person that likes to have a bit of a schedule when touring the park and I definitely have to be there at park opening. I have a friend that works at WDW and she can get up to 3 people a day in for free but she can also get discounted tickets. Maybe he could get you your own ticket but at a discounted rate?

I'd prolly say thanks but no thanks too. Too many variables. I'm the type that pays for convenience though so it's worth it to me to pay to do things on my own terms.

Well I guess I am in the minority here, but I say, wait and get that free ticket!!! If it just so happens that you are waiting, and this CM is not showing up, then pay for it. But what really do have to lose (besides a little wait), if you chose to wait for the CM to sign you in??

I don't know what your specific scheduling situation is, but we spent 3 days in the park and then for that 4th day had a CM friend get us in. My mom chose only to go on that free day and she regretted not getting much done (she left early and it turned out we did not exactly start early either--that's one of the reasons we are going back in a month!). You can see and do everything in three days--if you can possibly add on a fourth it is a great opportunity to see what it is like from the CM's perspective, but I felt like we were on his schedule (because we were  ).

If the CM is going to be with you, it's really fun to ride rides with them, ask them questions, see how they interact with the other CMs, etc. It's kind of a once in a lifetime experience. I'm actually glad we did it, but we were there for four days so it may be different for me.

Thanks for all your feedback. I think I am going to go with my gut instinct and pay for my tickets. I would be a nervous wreck if the guy didn't show up. I know it sounds crazy but it would kill me to not get EE on Saturday. That is really the only reason I stay on property. I usually finish up Fantasyland and Tomorrowland but 8am.

So were you going to have him sign you in all 3 days?

FWIW, if you buy a 3 day hoppers, you get MM even without staying on property...so if you were going the 30th, 31st, and 1st and bought a 3 day hopper, you could probably save some money by staying off site...
