We will have one day at WDW without park access. Looking at suggestions for fun things to do with my 2 and 4 year old?

We went to downtown disney last spring and would love to do something different. Staying at contemporary in November. Any suggestions?

They have a lot of fun activities at Fort Wilderness (pony rides is one) and it is a quick boat ride from the Contemporary.

Renting boats from the Marina is great. I think Fort Wilderness has the s'mores and sing along with Chip and Dale. Depending on when in November, you might be able to ride the monorail and check out the Christmas decorations at the other resorts, take the boat over to Wilderness Lodge too! There's putt putt, but that might be a challenge with a 2 year old. The resort should have pool games in the afternoon that are fun for the kids. Look for hidden Mickeys around the resort...

Take a trip around with monorail, spend the day at the pool or visit other resorts!

If you are staying DVC, you can always pool hop.

Downtown Disney is still always an option, even if you aren't really looking to do that.

At night, the DVC's tend to have activities you can do.

A fun trip around on the monorail is always a good time. As well as you can resort hop.

There's the mini-golf place out around the Boardwalk, so you there's options for things to do.

ETA: At Kidani they had tours and such, and in the evenings they had a CM on hand with the night-vision goggles. Throughout the day they do have tours (you have to pay for it) but yeah.

The pool at your resort. Mini-golf at Winter/Summerland. Resort-hopping. Animal Kingdom Lodge is awesome to walk around and see the animals from the public viewing areas. If you're going when the Christmas decorations are up, resort-hopping to see the decorations is terrific. The gingerbread creations are so cool. And so different at all of the resorts!

Totally agree! A great place to hang out. Right by the boat docks are the stables, pony rides, a nice shop, and a great playground.

We take the boat from OKW to DTD and then back to SSR just for something to do that is relaxing and fun.

Watch the electric water parade from the beach at the poly.

I am sure there are tons more. I think the campers are usually all decorated at the camp ground and it could be fun to look at them.

There are plenty of activities in the Orlando area outside of WDW. I always recommend Gatorland, but if you want another amusement park activity there is Universal and Legoland. If you want to go a bit further, visit the Kennedy Space Center.
