Fabric I bought to make... I don't even remember what, a simple curtain I made for my kitchen two houses ago - doesn't fit anything now,

Depends on the type of fabric. My first thought is pillows. Does it go with your current decor? If it is thinner fabric you could turn it into a skirt with an elastic waistband. If you could make a nice bag with handles with contrasting lining, or even the same fabric for lining. An over the door holder for shoes. An apron, summer top with elastic around the top and spaghetti straps, a night gown, again if thin fabric, cover a chair if thicker fabric.

My first thought and what I do with leftover fabric is make rice bags. Sew the sides maybe put a few rows in the middle fill with rice to heat in the microwave or put in the freezer for an ice pack. We use the ones for the microwave if we get a headache and sometimes when we get cold and we want to throw in under the covers. The frozen one for when the kids get a bump or something. It's softer than ice.

The other thought would be a grocery bag holder. put elastic at the top or feed a ribbon through it.

A reusable grocery bag.

Hope these ideas helped! :)

Well I suppose it depends on how much fabric and what kind it is. I know my girls like it when I make doll bedding out of random scraps.
