You are right--I said that out of shear anger. I left a lot of important information out of my original post that could have kept all of this nonsense and anger out of the equation. I have since replied to and edited into my original post, the rest of the story. Hopefully people will understand now, that we did not use child credits for adult credits, etc.

Thank you for clarifying your OP.
I did misunderstand it.
I am sorry.
I will edit my post also.
I do think you made good use of your leftover credits!

To the OP - Thanks for the mini trip report! I wish more people would come back and tell us about their dining experiences.

Even your original post didn't really sound bad. It was clear most of the child credits were going toward child meals.

Thanks, MInnie, Tink and Lewisc. It is really sad when you come to a happy place to post your experiences and end up feeling like you are going to hell. I just posted on another very similar thread that I felt like I had been raped and pillaged. I am glad that none of these hostile posters work at WDW, because I would NEVER go back. I believe that Disney is extra-accomodating to people on the DDP because they WANT them to come back. It is all about customer service and Disney is one of the best in the business. They would probably be unhappy to know how some of their customers are treated after coming home to share their experiences. Thanks again! :)

Wrong, wrong, and wrong.

I want to clarify that my DS turned 3 the day before we left WDW. According to Disney, I did not have to pay for him at all but as as HONEST person, I did. We did not use Child credits to pay for Adult meals. My intent to this post was to inform people of how we used our leftover credits. I didn't want it to be a complete trip report. I left out the part of our trip where my DBIL paid OOP for dinner at Teppanyaki to the tune of $253. That gave us 2C and 2A credits that we didn't use. Our extra's came from that. Looking back at my receipts, DS got TS meals at every dinner except the one he slept through--why would I order a meal that wouldn't be eaten? For all of you who think that he starved, later that night, he ate chicken fingers and fries. I didn't want to turn this into a trip report therefore I left out what has now turned out to be very important details. In no way whatsoever, did we screw Disney out of credits or use child's for adult's. Disney doesn't differentiate how the credits are used, so technically, we could have ordered adult CS meals everytime BUT WE DIDN'T UNLIKE MANY, MANY PEOPLE WE ENCOUNTERED. We spent $5000 on this trip including accomodations, DDP, tickets, and incidentals. So I feel like Disney made plenty off of us. We used our DDP the way it suited our family and if you don't like it, too bad. I repeat, WE DID NOT SCREW DISNEY OR USE CHILD CREDITS FOR ADULT MEALS.

As far as the snacks, we got what Disney included as snacks. We paid for the Doritoes with CASH and then the CM said "wait, you may can get this as a snack." She checked, and we did. We only took what Disney included.

I hope this settles some of your stomachs but in all honesty, I am not too concerned, because there is not a single person on this board who hasn't thought of, or figured out a way to save a buck on a Disney trip. After all, isn't that what site like this and MOusesavers, etc. are all about--saving money? Anyway, I don't know any of you personally and hopefully never will, but I don't want to be misunderstood. If you are still having problems with the way we used our DDP's please feel free to PM me and I will go into much greater detail! :)

Yes, Of course I also like to save money.
But I am a rule follower.
I will not intentionally bend or break a rule to save money.
I read this on another post:

"Life would be easier, nicer, less stressful, and a heck of a lot cleaner if all people would respect others rights and the environment around them. Following the rules in place is the first step toward that goal. It's that simple, it really is!".

I think this good advice. I have always tried to live my life this way.

I have a good feeling there a lot more DIS'ners who feel the same way as I.

I understand. I am happy you had a good time at disney!

Everyone has a right to their opinion but some ppl are going to far with that. No one has a right to judge another person.
I feel once you have stated your opinion on a thread once, to repeat it is only being pushy and obnoxious.
You know what they say about opinions..
To anyone I offend let me apologize but these constant arguments and bickering has me fed up, many ppl have come to the boards today and tried to make helpful posts only to get flamed and thats just ridiculous.

I guess some people don't live by the golden rule... "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!". :rolleyes1

OK--If that was directed at me I get it! :thumbsup2
Of course I always thought that Thumper's Dad said that.
The golden is rule is something about doing unto others isn't it :confused3 ?

This post is a plea to others who may have helpful information, but after this thread don't want to bother posting it.

Please post your experiences with DDP. There are many of us on this board who are sincerely interested in amassing as much information as possible in order to make our own moral choices. Don't be put off by the small, but very vocal judgmental minority. Most of us really just want to know how Disney is approaching DDP. Thank you in advance.

OP, I am very sorry you were made to feel bad.

Just my take on this whole thing:

As much as I would like to think Disney is there to make me and all my fellower DIS'ers happy, it is there to make money. Period. If their employees allow people on the dining plan to utilize it the best way they see fit for their family, or there are no plans set in place to stop any loopholes, then how can you blame the customer? I have never used the plan, our first time will be in May 2007. I will use it for whatever the cm's allow me to. Right or wrong. Disney is making money. They are happy, and they want their customers happy. If you think that some people are taking advantage of a naive business, I think not. If they thought they were losing money, they would cancel the plan. And if that does happen, I highly doubt it will be from people using child credits for adults.

I am not perfect in any sense of the word. That is why when I hear of someone doing something I would not necessarily do or don't fully understand, I keep my lips tight. What you feel may be morally wrong, the next person might not. And as far as I know, God hasn't appointed a mortal soul to teach us that on the Disney Dining Plan here on the DIS.

I say, go to Disney, respect others, and enjoy *your* vacation. I can tell you when I am there next May, I won't be thinking about who is robbing disney on the dining plan :goodvibes

I am sure I will be told about the flame suit, but I think I am done opening any threads about this dining plan, so I think I am safe.

Original Poster: I am glad that dining plan worked for your family and that you had a great trip.

no plans set in place to stop any loopholes

I cannot agree that if there is not a plan to stop a loophole than it is OK to use the loophole.

Disney has different tickets for Adults -- everyone 10 and over.
Tickets for children 3-9
And those under 3 are free.

Disney does not ask for birth certificates for all children entering the parks to make sure they have the proper ticket.
They count on the integrity of guests to buy the proper tickets for their children.
It is the same with the dining plan. Disney is counting on the guests to buy children's meals for children 9 and under on the DDP.

Yes, please! Please let us know about your own recent experiences on the DDP.
We're going in Sept. and I really want to know how Disney is managing their DDP at this time. Thanks! :cheer2:

My son turned 3 on the day before we left, so technically, under Disney's rules, I didn't have to pay for him. So, before you go throwing flame suits, get all your information straight!

And as far as paying it forward, we encounter so many rude people on this trip, I wouldn't dare take a chance of giving someone something they didn't deserve. And while all of you are giving your credits to other people, I am assuming you give them your key to the world. And, when you do that, you are also giving them all of your personal information, including your credit card number to do with what they please. Not smart regardless of how NICE you think you are being.

PS: You are not God are you?
in your original post you didnt say that about the age. Disneys rules state the age of the child WHEN YOUR ON THE TRIP
so if you child turned 3 the day before you left and was 3 when the vacation started you did need to buy the stuff thats why the disney website says age of child when on vacation. If you child turned 3 in the middle of the vacation then they were 2 when the vacation started and thats different.

as for paying it forward I would give my card to the cashier for a family behind me in the line NOT give my card to a stranger. Im not stupid. and I am not god.

I just went to the Disney website and it says this

"Please give the ages of your children at the TIME of travel."
"We require the ages of all children in your group because ticket package prices are calculated based on this information."

So basically your child turned 3 before you traveled so they were 3 before the trip and so based on that info you would buy a ticket and plan.

in her post she says her child was 3 before they left

Yes she did say that in one post. Which could mean the day before leaving home or the day before leaving disney.

She cleared that up in post 60 where she said

Yes, she did state her young her son turned 3 on the trip.
I thought she cleared everything up.
Her post informs us how she put the extra credits to good use.
She used them for her family. :thumbsup2

Good show everyone! ;)
Lets not beat a dead horse now...
I think that the OP has cleared everything up. I know that when I first came to this doard, I posted something about using pools that were not at MY resort. I was flamed... I had forgot to add in my first post that I would be using the pool at a resort friends of ours was staying at. I think that this is the same kind of thing. I am sure that we have all posted something and later had to go back to add more information so that the readers can better understand our point.
As for this thread, I think we can all move along! :grouphug:
