What to do with something you can't ride with?

My husband is a diabetic and was told he would have to take his pump off for some rides... my question is, what do we do? Is there someone who can hold it for us?

Who told him he would need to take it off? Sounds odd, based upon what I know of most pumps. You could try asking on the DISabilities forum, they might have better information. Otherwise, you might have to "child swap" with the pump. That's the only thing I can think of because you can't leave things with CMs and some rides you get off at different places than where you board.

I am interested in this too? Who told him he had to take it off? My nephew uses the pump & has never had to remove it - the only place it would have to come off is if he was at a water park - but then he would remove it for the day.

My neice had to remove it for some of the rougher rides, Space Mountain, etc - said the forces could damage it.

The pump people, the ones who make it and send it to him... they said you can't wear the pump during any rides that have force in them because they use some type of magetic system... i was also told by this disboard of many people who dont do anything, just suspend their pumps, but i wanted him to call just to make sure.

the child swap thing sounds sucky. I'll have to talk to him. I guess I need someone to tell me what rides have that force in them, like tower of terror, space mountain, what about that aeorsmiht ride? maybe we can just go put his pump in a locker and go ride those rides last?

I use a Paradigm pump and have never taken it off or suspended it when going on any Disney rides. I can't imagine how Space Mt. could possibly be rough enough to cause a problem. Maybe Mission Space could do something, but I've ridden that too and have never had an issue.

Hmm...I think the pump company may be being ultra-conservative.

Just wanted to post that I called Disney and they said the only ride, she could think of, with the free falling was the TOT and said that all we would have to do is hand it to a CM and tell them "for medical reasons I can't take this on the ride" and they would treat it like a wheel chair situation.
