Greetings from WDW! Wow! The Dining Plan is a lot of food! We have split meals a couple times because of huge portions. Also skipped QS one day because we were too full from CRT. If we execute the plan I currently have, we will end with 2 QS credits. That is after eating a lunch buffet at Coronado Springs Pepper Market (thanks to info. I learned on these boards) as we start home.

Please tell me what I should do with these leftover credits.:confused3

TIA,

Flame Tree at Animal Kingdom has a nice fruit plate that is 1 CS. We have that often as a snack when we visit. Also, you could use it for breakfast one morning when you have a late dinner reservation. Unfortunately unused CS are kind of difficult, it's not like you can double them up and go to a fancier place like you can with TS credits. I have also bought other people food with some unused credits. I know that some people here will tell you it is against Disney rules, but I paid a lot for that dining plan (peak season) and if I feel like giving it away...

You could ask at your resort QS place about getting snacks for them. Some places will let you do that.

Some people make a trip to Earl of Sandwich over at DTD and get sandwiches for the ride or flight home. You could probably get some grab n go type sandwiches at your resort as well.

The buffet is a trial until January 4. Whether it will continue after that, we'll have to wait and see.

your resort food court should let you trade them for snacks. we got 3snacks per QS credit. Came home with 15 rice krispy mickey heads!

The 2012 DDP Brochure that recently came out said that QS could NOT be used for snacks. TS can be used for QS, but QS can not be used for snacks

I agree with a PP who suggested getting sandwiches to go for the road. We've done that before and everything was still yummy.

Since it's always dinner time when our flight leaves, we always go to Earl of Sandwich, Wolfgang Puck Express, Main Street Bakery, or the Boardwalk Bakery and get something to eat at the airport or the flight home. The drinks are usually a waste (unless we get a bottled drink and drink it before security), but the sandwiches and desserts are always better than airport food.

The cashier at our food court (Port Orleans Riverside) said we could get 1 item from bakery, 1 piece of fruit & 1 drink for a QS credit.

I really like the Earl of Sandwich idea. We can take a boat over and pick them up, bring them back and put in the cooler for dinner.

Thanks for everyone's help. I'm planning to get lots of boxes of Disney chocolates for friends who picked up our mail and watered our tree while we were gone.

It's not official that you can use them for snacks. It's something the resorts have been doing kind of off the books, if you will, likely because guests were ending up with a lot of leftover CS credits. But it's also possible that in 2012 Disney will crack down on this and not allow it, we'll have to wait and see about that too.

I interpreted the cashier's comment to mean that a QS could be a bakery item, piece of fruit & a drink. She was not equating 3 snack items to be equal to 1 QS. I'll be interested to see if this will still work in 2012.

We have, after checking out and waiting at the airport for later flights have gone to EOS for take with and/or for a drive to St. Petersburg when going that way. Our last trip was to FWC and thier wings were very good and warmed up very well later. Other locations may have items like this as well.popcorn::

We used ours up at the Food Court at POP and were able to get 3 snack items for 1 CS credit. Load up on the Rice crispy treats for stocking stuffers:thumbsup2

Port Orleans Riverside will not allow 3 snacks for 1 CS. We've decided to go to Downtown Disney and get boxes of chocolates from the Goofy Candy Store and then get "to go" from Earl of Sandwich. We're driving, so we can have those for dinner on the way home.

Not all resort CS allow that though. I know May 2010 I shared a room with a fellow DISer at CSR. I was there one day longer than she was, but she had to buy the DDP for the length of my stay, plus we went over to Universal one day, so she round up with three left over CS credits her last day. She tried to trade them in for snacks at CSR. At first she was told no then another CM said she could but it would be a one for one trade only. All she got for her three CS credits were like three candy bars. Her DME bus was coming soon, so she was in a hurry and had no choice. She had asked earlier over at Starring Rolls bakery about trading them for several cup cakes to go and was also told no over there.

We don't mind cold pizza; so, it's a good way to use 2 credits at once. We don't order meat on the pizza.

We bring extra storage containers to hold food with us and many times we drive by car. If using ME we would eat on the bus sometimes or before we get through security at the airport. If I didn't have room for the storage container I would toss it.

Wow...we were there there this past June and they allowed us to do this. Sounds like they are deterring people from doing this and making them use their credits or lose them. More money for Disney that way....

We too were able to trade QS for any 3 snack/dessert items at POP. Even 3 ice cream sundaes! We also used up our last QS for meals for our plane ride home as well as one day trip to the beach. :goodvibes

Treat someone to a meal. I always get a charge out of buying a meal or a snack for people.

I read on allears.net that in 2012, Disney will no longer allow substitutions of CS credits for snacks. In other words, if one has CS credits, he/she cannot use them to purchase snacks. I was able to do this in '09 while we were at WDW with FD. I managed to get 3 snacks using 1 CS credit. Now though... It may not be possible. :sad1:
