I just went to a Wal-Mart while vacationing in Florida and they had all of their fabric 75% off. (Doing away with fabric department) I can hardly pass up a deal like that. I bought some fleece for my daughter to make her friend a blanket for $1.25 a yard and I bought some WWE fabric to make something for DS11. He is really into wrestling. It is normal cotton material, but not sure what to do with it. It was an impulsive buy, I know. If it were for a girl, I could think of dozens of things to make. He already has WWE curtains and bedding. I bought the rest of the fabric that they had which was a little over 10 yards. It was about $.75 a yard. Any ideas out there for what I can make for an 11 year old boy?:santa::santa::santa:

I'd say PJ pants, but with 10 yards you could make a few pairs!

What a good bargain. :thumbsup2

Go over to the Family Board on DIS and check out the Disbotique thread. These folks sew up some awesome clothing and can point you in the direction of many MALE patterns...I've seen something they call bowling shirts that look just awesome made with Disney fabric, so I'm guessing they'd be cool in wrestling too.

:( I am in FL and my Walmart is doing away with the fabric. I haven't bought any so far......

As for ideas, maybe a tote bag or backpack, or a smaller bag for his gadgets?

Do you have any nephews or any of his friends that are into WWE? If so you could make them a blanket or pillow.

You could make him an extra large pillow to use for laying on the floor. Or a body pillow.

Are all Walmarts doing away with their fabric departments ?

After you are done with your fabric, assuming you have some left over...Make some pillows, throws and donate them to your local Children's Hospital. I buy clearanced out fleece during the year and DD12 (DS5 helps with what he can)and I make blankets out of them and donate them at the end of the year to Children's Hospital. We were the recipients of a blanket and pillow for DS when he was very little, so now we pay it forward. :)

Our local Walmart here in Georgia did away with theirs last month. They still carry some fabrics in the crafts department but no rolls, measuring table, etc. That's all gone.

That's a great idea. I will be sure to do that.
