I was just wondering.....

does anyone know what is going to happen with Cinderella's Castle Suite after the Year of a Million Dreams is over?

While Disney has not stated their plans, I think all are in agreement that it won;t be given away free anymore. I'm sure it will be given to VIP's and such. But I would like to think once in a while we had a shot!

I was wondering this too. It seems like it was a lot of money spent if it was only for a year. I'd much rather see it spent on "Make a Wish" than for VIPs. They probably have enough money to stay in suites at regular hotels.

I ouwld love to see them use it for MAW. However, on the nights it is not booked for MAW, they should use it for a honeymoon suite or let it be booked like a regular room.

I too think they should you if for 'Make a Wish' :cloud9: .

Families that have been through hard times would truly appreciate staying in such magical surroundings :wizard: .

No, I don't think we are all in agreement with that. The moment they sell it, even once, then it loses the intrinsic value of it being a "money can't buy" experience. No matter what you charge for the room, you couldn't possibly recoup the loss of the ability to tell guest that there is no cost on dreams.

Which sounds all pretty and pixie dust, but it also makes a lot of sense. How many press releases go out with each person who wins the suite? How many local papers like to do a quick showcase everytime a local citizen stays in the suite. Sure, Disney can buy ads in a paper, and can press for television time, but the newsworthiness of such a stay, the PR and Marketing Value of the suite only remain as long as no one can BUY a night in the suite.

So, I think that after the Years of a Million Dreams, it will still be given out, free. To guests, to Make a Wish, to anyone who can get a good bit of press out there to Disney, anyone who can be a picture, with a news release, of a family experiencing the magic at WDW, which will encourage families around them to consider a trip to WDW

I actually have heard it will not be used for MAW because it would not be fair to all the kids to do so. I am sure at any given season there are at least 2 families that are there with MAW so Disney would be forced to choose between kids. Not a position I would want to be in.
Personally I would much rather Disney put either a very high price on it or make a bidding area on there site for daily rental and then donate that money to MAW. That way they are sending more deserving children to Disney. ;)

Well YOAMD is being extened through Dec. 2008 so I guess for now at least it's still a prize to be won.

I had to say hi from the Antelope Valley after seeing your location!!!!!!!

I also think it would be good for Make a Wish but do it as they are now with each family having a one nights stay. I am sure they can work some balance to get as many families in as possible.

Or maybe people who have done some good. I think it would be wonderful to share it with people who really deserve it not just pay out the big bucks.

I took a tour at MK last week and our guide told us that it would be used for Make A Wish! I know the CM's aren;t always right but I don't think this one would have said it (on an official tour) if it weren't true!

Hi there,

Did you get to "see" the suite on the tour ? I think it should be for MAW also.

However during the day...they should open it up as an attraction so that people can at least see it in person.
