What to do with banked pts..can't use :(

I have points that were banked and have to be used. I did a big trip this past Thanksgiving and had a few left over so banked them with the knowledge that my dd and I would be going back for a couple of days this summer and use them then (she has Dance Nationals in Orlando in July). Long story short, we can't go to WDW for the rest of the year - including Nationals - because her dance team is going to China in October! We were chosen to represent the USA at an International Cultural Festival in Bejing. Of course I gave my dd the choice..dance at WDW this summer, or China this fall. I wish we had the $$ to do both, but sadly no. Now I don't know what to do with my points. I don't want to lose them. I never transferred or rented points so I don't know how that works. Also, I am looking into using them at a place through RCI, but everywhere I look there is no availability for the time I can take this summer. Sorry this is long and rambling, but I really don't know what to do. Can anyone help??

Have you checked out the Concierge Collection? I think the Manhattan Club is an option. Maybe a night in the city - after a nice dinner or the theater? (Of course if you live in NYC, then maybe that wouldn't be all that special).

There might be other options in the CC that you might enjoy for a night or two.

I am from Long Island, but we are in the city alot. My dd's birthday is in Sept and we were possibly doing a city day...maybe I'll check that out and see if it's an option. Thanks

Congrats on your daughter going to China!!! That is awesome!!! How about checking out Lake George or DC for a couple of nights.

Lake George has no availablity - tried that already. We just did 4 days in DC for spring break b/c the amount of points for 3 nights were ridiculous - I could have stayed in a 1 bed at WDW for a week! Thanks for the suggestions though.

You wouldn't be able to transfer them to another member because banked points cannot be transferred. You could try the rent/trade board, you never know, someone may want a night or two but then you'd have to handle making the reservation and get payment for renting it out, etc.

I like Carol's suggestion alot ! We live nearby NYC (islanders too but staten island ) and never really think on city as an overnight destination but it sure sounds like fun.

Also, I'm not sure if I'm remembering this correctly, but I thought I just read a post past week or two that mentioned being able to use odd amounts of points for RCI 'days' bookings or something like that - think it was kind of like availability in the near future that may be booked for 1 or more nights. Maybe someone who knows more on RCI will come by with suggestions.

If the other vacation options don't work out I would try renting them and use that extra cash to take to China and enjoy yourself even more. Congrats to your daughter, that is wonderful.

I think this is what I will end up doing...Mama can buy an awful lot in China with that money...everything's made there!
