What to do with a Black Sheep?

Well, a lot of our vacation plans have changed, and I am updating those who were so kind to offer me advice (and let me vent!).

SIL has quit her job (blaming her mother as being "too ill" to watch her daughter!) and is not going to WDW. That dropped us down to 15 people in our GG and, obviously, more comfortable sleeping quarters.

Last week, DH's cousin called and told us they aren't going, either. They are upset over some of the other family dynamics and don't want to spend a ton of money and have a lousy time. We are very disappointed because this cousin and is family are the ones we really get along with...but we respect their decision.

Now, we are down to 12. In 2 two-bedrooms, it will be downright ROOMY!

If anyone else drops out, we will just get a studio for the other people and save the remaining points. We will keep a 2BR for ourselves, though! :thumbsup2

I have another evil concern...and that is that SIL will get a job the week before we go away. I am afraid she will manipulate MIL into staying in order to watch her child. If she does, that will represent thousands of dollars lost to us (we are paying for everything for the in-laws).

This family seems to have something against daycare, obviously. :confused3I was a single mom for six years and daycare was the only option for me. My son is now nearly 13 and is a straight-A student who also happens to be a black belt. Didn't seem to hurt him any. :scared1:

I'm guessing that the problem isn't with daycare per se, only with daycare that's not FREE.

Best wishes!

Ill never forget the time that one of my five sisters thought she could go to disney for 300 dollars with a timehare deal. On another side for quite sometime I thought I must be the crazy one wanting to go to Disney every 2 years and my kids becoming teens at 12 and 13. Seems the people around me are speechless that we go so much and like it too. On this board though these people are wonderful and have my same sentiments , where are you all. I never meet people face to face who like Disney like our family

Personally I would not do any thing. You have given your family a wonderful, special gift. You should not have to be family referee also. WDW is a big place every one does not have to stay join at the hip. Everyone else can split from "Black sheep" for the day. Maybe just meet up for a meal.

After extending such a great invitation don't fee guilty you are not responsible for every one having a good time.
Is she seriously special (thanks little teapot) like verbally abusive, drunk etc or just a pain in the "you know where"?

I totally agree with Eliza. If people want to turn down free lodging due to one person, then that is a choice they are making.

Unless she is a total nut, I would not re-act to this at all.

For me, I can say that I will no longer play Travel Agent for my family. Live and learn I guess
