Well, a lot of our vacation plans have changed, and I am updating those who were so kind to offer me advice (and let me vent!).
SIL has quit her job (blaming her mother as being "too ill" to watch her daughter!) and is not going to WDW. That dropped us down to 15 people in our GG and, obviously, more comfortable sleeping quarters.
Last week, DH's cousin called and told us they aren't going, either. They are upset over some of the other family dynamics and don't want to spend a ton of money and have a lousy time. We are very disappointed because this cousin and is family are the ones we really get along with...but we respect their decision.
Now, we are down to 12. In 2 two-bedrooms, it will be downright ROOMY!
If anyone else drops out, we will just get a studio for the other people and save the remaining points. We will keep a 2BR for ourselves, though!
I have another evil concern...and that is that SIL will get a job the week before we go away. I am afraid she will manipulate MIL into staying in order to watch her child. If she does, that will represent thousands of dollars lost to us (we are paying for everything for the in-laws).
This family seems to have something against daycare, obviously.
I was a single mom for six years and daycare was the only option for me. My son is now nearly 13 and is a straight-A student who also happens to be a black belt. Didn't seem to hurt him any.
