but still like normal kids offerings?? My kids are 10 & 12, both eat like us (plenty!) even though they look like spaguettis :rotfl:, but I just can't seem to see anything they could like from the BB or Cafe Orleans menu. I want to try both, so I'm thinking the Monte Cristo for BB (not even sure they'll like it), but I know they won't eat that again at Cafe Orleans...
DS10 loves hamburguers, pizza and pasta. He won't eat anything that looks like exotic or spicy.
DD12 pizza, pasta, sushi, and they both love salmon, but just grilled or broiled.
what do you do?? :confused3
Any suggestions welcome!!

You can ask for an adult portion of a kids meal offering. It looks like both CO and BB have salmon with pasta or chicken with pasta on the kids menu.

If it is the small portion you are worried about (and I am not really sure of that, so forgive me if I am mistaken) I don't think you need to worry at Disneyland. Even the kid's meal are pretty large--which is actually not that great when you think about it! Eating smaller meals typically healthier. There are so many "snacks" to be had at DL, that if your kids don't get their fill at any restaurant, then I can gaurantee you they won't go home hungry.

My kids don't really like the food at Blue Bayou--but it isn't because they are picky. We live in the Bay area and their favorite foods are Indian, Japanese, and Vietnamese--so we do diversity here! But I really think that the Blue Bayou is fatally lacking in the "yum" department. It is great on ambiance, but not for the food. If your kids don't love it, then just let them soak up the atmosphere, then get them a snack later. You can split an adult meal with them, too. I can never finish a meal at Disneyland--because who wants to walk around and go on rides after stuffing themselves? It is much better to eat lightly--it just feels better all around.

If you don't see anything they will like at Cafe Orleans, then by all means save some money and just get take out at one of the other restaurants. You can even get pizza from Pizza Port for one kid, and a hot dog from Coke Corner for another. You can get something from Jolly Holiday and just eat all together at the outdoor seating in front of the restaurant. It only gets complicated if you over think it!

Thank you very much!! :goodvibes Great suggestions... yes, I think a snack here and there will help... I'm now thinking on going to other places where we can have a light meal, and snacks in between, it might be better for all of us.

My boys are 9 and 11 and they eat as much if not more than me! We usually do Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue since it's an all you can eat (bbq chicken, bbq ribs, bbq sausage, baked beans, coleslaw and cornbread).

I think the kids meals portions are tiny. My kids are now 15 and 12 and a kids chicken nugget meal is more like a snack. You only get like 4 nuggets. The pizza slice at Pizza port is large though.

They do have chicken nugget meals at Stagedoor Cafe and Golden Horseshoe which are adult portions and I think they run $8-$9. We get those for our kids usually once a trip.

Kids meals portions at Whitewater Snacks over in the Grand Cal. tend to be a bit larger though.

We have a hard time making everybody happy as far as food when we are at DL because some things my ds will eat, my dd wont' eat and they do still eat kid foods.

Kid portions are tiny, go for the double/double deal. Double the kids meal food at double the kids meal price. :)

Kerry has an excellent idea along with others. Our kids never had a problem eating what was put in front of them, but with a limited palate complicates if you intend to make them happy with meal choices. We have to do BB as a tradition and CO just for a great meal mid day.
