We are new to Disney & it is expected to rain much of the day today. We are the best things to do when this happens?

Put on water proof shoes and a poncho and head out!! If that's not your style, then you can head to Epcot. Lot's of stuff to do that is inside. But you still need those shoes and ponchos!!!

We have been to Epcot the other day. We were planning to hit Magic Kingdom today. Any tips there?

I agree with the pp......ponchos and water proof shoes or sandals and go have a good time :goodvibes.

Well, most everything is outside in MK!!! How warm is it? If it's warm enough, the rain doesn't really bother me. I put on my water sandals, a poncho and off I go. Just be sure to hit the inside things in order to get a break...Hall of Presidents, Philharmagic, Small World, etc.

Epcot is the best park for rain activities. Evidently, you don't plan on visiting it for more than one day.

Basically, stay away from the outside with ride queues. Do the rides that are inside. Buzz Lightyear is all inside, for example. You still have to get place to place and that's where the ponchos or umbrellas come into play. Some times, you can use gift shops and such to stay inside while getting from point A to point B.

Usually, it doesn't rain constantly. Just make a dash for the next attraction when there is a break in the rain.

Unfortunately, MK is probably the worse park to be in during rainy times. You may want to consider a different park.

As PP's said, poncho's. We like going to Downtown Disney if it is going to be raining for a long period of time. There are several indoor things to do. The AMC theatre, Disney Quest (requires adimission tickets), Splittsville bowling, lots of dining and shopping. Plenty to do in the rain! Have fun!:goodvibes

We still treat it like a normal day, unless it is a bad thunderstorm. We head to the parks and it really cuts down on the crowds, plus my family will not melt if we get wet:) We enjoyed AK, especially during the warm months, the animals just seem so much more lively and Mt. Everest in and out of the rain is fun.

put on a poncho and carry on

some of my best times at a park have been during the rain

thins out the crowds, cools off the hot afternoons, makes for some great drowned rat photos

I agree with others get a poncho and go with it. Many if not most of the attractions themselves are indoor anyhow....Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, Small World, Pooh, Snow White, Space Mountain, Monsters Inc., Philharmagic, Stitch, Hall of Presidents.....and I'm sure I'm missing some

Poncho! And keep on going! The only issue is A in a stroller. That is tough to navigate but if not I would just "keep swimming "

Keep enjoying the parks, hopefully with less people in them! Most things are inside anyways so just go and enjoy :goodvibes

We carry ponchos with us and a large ziplock to put them in when wet. We like downtown Disney best but roll with it anywhere. We spent too much for this trip to act like sugar. We have had years with zero or 10 min. of rain and one year we had tons of rain daily. We have met fastanating people on rainy days.

It cost a lot of money to go to Disney. We would not let rain keep us from going to the parks. I am with everybody else - put on the ponchos and head out. I have great pictures of my DH and DD playing checkers in the Magic Kingdom in pouring down rain. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

A rainy day means shorter lines for the attractions and rides. But if you don't like the idea of rain you can try disney quest (the in door video game theme park).
