What to do? STROLLER question!!!

OK so I finally decide I want a Maclaren Quest Sport (blue/gray). I have $100 gift card from my students (love those kids!) to use at Babies R us. With a coupon, another gift card and shipping it would be about $80! But now it is out of stock online. They only have the green one online and in the stores. DH hates green ( I think it is DIS green so I like it!)

But now Costco.com has the Maclaren Techno XT Stroller for $229 - shipping included!

So do I spend more out of pocket and get the "better" stroller? We can always use the $100 for diapers.

DH hates how indecisive I am...he is willing to pay the $229 just to finish the stroller decision (I have been trying to decide for a month what to buy...I decide and it is out of stock!!)

Help!!!

I don't have experience with your particular stroller(s), but I will say that we've always splurged on strollers because we wanted our babies/toddlers to be as comfortable as possible in them, especially at Disney. I made a checklist of everything that was important to us in a stroller and then searched for the perfect one. My twins are older now, 3-1/2, so we have a Dreamer Jogger side-by-side and it has been the best investment I ever made. We bring it to Disney every trip and the girls love it and can easily fall asleep in it.

In my opinion you can't go wrong with either Maclaren. Get the Techno and use the gift card for diapers! :thumbsup2

I paid the extra for the color I wanted. This is very unlike me! I am usually what does it matter what it looks like, etc as long as it performs the same (yours is slightly different situation). I actually got the Quest also because of color when I would have been perfectly fine with the one step down one, sorry forget the names. It would be nice to spend less out of pocket on the stroller, but if you are going to buy diapers anyways, get what you want in the stroller and use the giftcard for diapers.

I just got a quest 2006 on sale from all be baby for $169. So far I love it but I have only used it in the house! The techno was too much stroller for what I wanted, it is really nice but I wanted something a little smaller for traveling etc. I have my gracco for my big stroller. I guess it depends on what you are going to use it for. I just completed my stroller investigation and Dh was sick of it too by the end. Good luck shopping!

I have 2 strollers already, but wanted one in between the sizes, with storage too. I found one at Babies R Us/ Toys R Us for 40. It's not great ,but will be good enough for the trip. I didn't really care much what it looked like ,but being I had a choice of 2 colors I went to the store that had the color I liked. I didn't want to spend much at all being that this is just for the trip.

Is the Techno too big to bring to WDW? We will use it at home but the primary use is WDW.

It is a good size for WDW, it is still small compared to other strollers. My point was that for the money and what I wanted to use it for it was just too much. Dh did like the longer handle to push it but that alone did not justify the price for us. I started out looking for an umbrella stroller to use for the airport and quick runs to the store when I don't feel like bringing the quattro. After all was said and done we would up with the quest. Ds will be turning 1 during our trip. I am planning to rent from ABBF the graco that I have at home for long park days, that way he can lay way back and have some better sun coverage, also I like that I can carry more in the quattro and it had the tray. I plan to use our Mac for the pool, restaurants, and quick runs to the parks. This may be overkill but I don't want to be sorry and have a crabby baby on my hands. How old is your baby? IF you really want the techno check out all be baby, they might have some more 2006 left on sale.

DS will be 9 months on the trip.

What is that website? I did a search for all be baby and got nothing.

The website is albeebaby.com I bought my Quest there.

If you live in NY or NJ you will pay sales tax.

The Quest is a great stroller. If the Maclaren will be your primary stroller and will use with a newborn, go for the Costco one. If you won´t use with a newborn, go with the Quest.

HTH

I will be using it with a newborn now and hopefully until he grows out of it!

Now I read this on the Costco website:

This item is covered by Costco's guarantee to refund your purchase price if you are not completely satisfied. Costco's guarantee applies, even though this item may not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty, because Costco is not an "authorized" dealer of the merchandise.

AHHH just when I think I have figured this out! I know Costco has a great return policy (any time as long as you have a receipt) so I should be ok. I used to work there so I may be partial. My ex-hubby is still there so I guess if there is a problem I always have a contact.

So Techno XT may be it...

:) You can also find good deals from Albee baby on Ebay. I believe ther ID is BabySurplus. Good luck deciding!

I think you should get it from Costco! They have the ABSOLUTE best return policy of any store!!!! Keep the receipt and if something happens to the stroller a year down the line, they will take it back, no questions asked.
