We will be arriving tomorrow afternoon for a very short and last minute planned trip. We are staying off property at Buena Vista Suites for 3 nights. The only reason for the trip is to attend the preview for BLT. And by chance my sister and her family will be at the World, so we will meet up for a few hours. We also plan to purchase one day water park tickets, to use on Sunday. My question is, what suggestions would you all have of things we can do outside the parks?

Thanks!

Are you looking for things to do at WDW outside of the parks or do you mean stuff to do in Orlando?

I am sorry! We are looking for things to do inside WDW, but outside the parks.

Thanks!

Miniature golf is fun.

Water parks (make sure you get a DVC discount if you are already a member). If I remember correctly, the annual water park pass is pretty reasonable and you could go every day.

Golf (6 courses)

Miniature Golf @ Fantasia Gardens near MGM & @ Winter Summerland near Blizzard Beach

Horseback Riding @ Fort Wilderness

Take Monorail around & check out GF, POLY & CR.

Take boat over to FW and walk around grounds.

Let me know if you need other ideas.

Have a great time!

Ice cream at Beaches N Cream.

Check out the Boardwalk. Make your own candy at Goofy's Candy Shop.

Check out Downtown Disney.

I mean after all they are going to be there 3 nights. :rotfl:

Yup, ice cream for breakfast-good calcium! Ghiardelli's warm caramel sundae makes a good lunch, and the No Way Jose sundae is good on the menu for dinner. Hey, just giving menu ideas (aren't people always asking "what's good on the menu for dinner?")

To the OP, renting surrey bikes at Boardwalk or OKW is fun. Also, shopping at DTD, riding the boats there to SSR or POR, renting watersprite boats, going over to AKL to watch animals (from inside if you want air conditioning).

Enjoy the Hotels. Check out Poly, Grand Floridian, Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge. They all have wonderful theming and great restaurants and bars. Check out the MK fireworks from the top of Contemporary. :cool1:
Also, enjoy Downtown Disney and Boardwalk. Maybe a night a JellyRolls, one of our favorites.

Also Golf is great at WDW!! There is plenty to do! Plus, let us know about BLT, we baought 200 points and are staying there in Sept.:goodvibes

I'm going down in a couple of weeks and not planning on going to the parks. Some of the things I have been thinking about doing are: laying by the pool (you would need to do this at your LBV resort and not Disney), strolling around DTD, renting a bike to ride around the resort, going to tea at the GF. You could also rent the little boats and drive them around, they're fun too!

ETA: You could also get some spa treatments. Some of them are discounted to DVC members, as well!
