We are arriving on Friday to DC Ranch and i am driving for the first time AHH I am so nervous.:scared:
We are staying for two nights and have two park passes which i plan to use on Friday and Saturday.
Our last day is Sunday and our ferry is not until 6.30pm so we have until about 2pm until we have to set off towards calais.
Any suggestions as to what to do?
Also any tips for the drive would be fab

We haven't been to DLP in a while, but we are going the end of April, for 2 nights like you. We have hit Downtown Disney in FL the day we leave (if we don't have enough park tickets for the last day). Maybe you could check out the DIsney Village shopping center or I've seen on the actual DLP website that there is another shopping center nearby. Or if shopping isn't your thing, take a tour of the hotels around there have lunch, wander around, and take it easy before leaving.
Happy travels!

Do you definitely only have tickets for 2 days as with most packages you would get 2 nights 3 days.

If you dont have tickets you could do as suggested and go to the village and perhaps have lunch at cafe mickey. Its also nice to have a wander round the hotels.

You could check out what time the pool is open at DCR (It may not open til 3) as you could then go for a swim - there are changing facilities at the pool and you could hire towels so you are not carrying wet ones

a character lunch at cafe mickeys would be a perfect end and as its in the village wont need park tickets. could maybe look around shops 1st pack etc in the morning

If you definitely don't have park tickets for your last day, you could either have a leisurely morning, getting everyone up, packed and out (check-out is 11am), then head to Cafe Mickey for character lunch, bit of shopping etc, before you leave the resort.

Or, if you all think you'll be up and checked out earlier than 11am - you could visit some of the other onsite hotels, they have character meets at each hotel at or near the reception areas from around 8am right through until 10.30 or 11am :).

The HNY and NBC hotels are closest to Cafe Mickey, and both are pretty impressive inside :goodvibes.

We do only have two days tickets as i booked with a newspaper offer.

Is the shopping any good in the nearby mall and are there places to eat that are any good while we are at the mall?

Many Thanks:thumbsup2

Theres a big supermarket in the shopping centre (Auchan) for you to stock up on wine and other french goodies.
Theres also an outlet part outside.
Theres a food area with quite a few restaurants

i never thought of doing meet n greets at other hotels! thats a good idea, is it def allowed lol? where at hotel new york would i go for it lol?

Yep, its definitely allowed - we did it last year when we were staying at the Magic Circus, instead of doing EMH :). For the HNY, you go in at the lakeside entrance, turn to your right, and you'll come to the character meet area (theres a yellow cab cut-out as a backdrop).

For the NBC, you go in at the lakeside entrance, up the staircase, and right next to the entrance to the Disney shop, is the character meet area (its all nautical, with a treasure chest, fishermans net, lifesavers ring etc).

The shopping mall is great for food, McDonald's, cafeteria, great Chinese, good Japanese, there's a Hippos burger place, a fish restaurant, a pizza place .... there is also a sealife centre underneath.

The shops in the mall could keep you occupied for the morning, next door at the outlet village are pricey stores (Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger etc) and a Starbucks!!

Are the restaurants more reasonably priced than the hotel and park restaurants as we don't have eat for free offer and would have probably spent a fortune on food by then.
The chinese sounds good have you eaten there much?

Is it easy to drive to the mall and is parking free?
Thanks:thumbsup2

Yes parking is free and its an easy 5 min drive there. The restaurants are normal prices rather than disney prices

Last time I was there the chinese offered a set meal (3 courses) for 13 euro ... and it's lovely food in my opinion.

It's SOOOO much cheaper to eat over there than in the parks (and much nicer in my opinion! even though I love Disney the food isn't great at Paris IMO)

I would also recommend the near by mall, loads of diff shops /restaurants

we spent over 5 hrs there, only seemed like an hr tho lol
:rotfl2:

I would go and meet the characters in SL, they all get dressed up in sort of ranger's clothes, it's dead cute :) Then have lunch at Cafe Mickey, and a quick beer at SL's Redwood Lounge by the fire (or maybe not if you're driving hehe) :D

We stayed at SL last time we visited and it was really nice. We have also stayed in the santa fa but had to stay in davy C's as my youngest of 3 children is now 3yrs so davy C's was our only option.

There is a outlet shoppingmall at La Vallee Vilage, you can find more information about it on the official DLP website.

It's really cool, since you can find lots of discounted DLP and Donaldson goods too.
