What to do in 2005????

Hi,

Okay, here what I wanted to do: spend 3 nights in a studio @ BCV our home & take a 4 night cruise. That was before I found out that the cruise points were per person. I thought it was for 2 people. It would just be my mom & me. NOT! I wish. I started number crunching again. I could still do the 4 day cruise BTW, we'll have 309 points to work with & we DON'T want to borrow. We like somewhere between a cat 7-9 in the regular season possible value season (depends when I get out of classes in May.)

Could we pay for the cruise with cash & go to BCV on points? Do I have to call elsewhere to book cruise portion? Maybe bump up to a one bedroom.

Do I say the heck with it & just do the cruise? Even though we'd miss going home BCV. I would still have some to bank for 2006.

What would you do? I know there are many possibilities. I'd like some suggestions. I'm pretty new @ this so bare with me. Thanks!

While some like the ease of the prepaid vacation by using points..I the ever frugal DVCer and I would always chose cash for a cruise over points....not a very good buy in my opinion....

I would use the points at BCV and cash for cruise..

I agree with Zurgswife, pay for the curise and use your points for staying at a DVC resort. I think with early booking discounts, you will be way ahead. If you need the $$$ you can rent some of the points you would have had to use.

We elected to pay cash for our cruise, not rent our points, and do both in the same year.
