What to do for cheap?

My husband is going to a conference located at the Swan/Dolphin Nov. 2-6, and I am going along (without the kids!!!). His company has put us at the Best Western inside WDW. Due to budget constraints, I will not be able to buy admission to any of the parks, so I am looking for fun, cheap things to do. Any suggestions????

Hi Jenny and Welcome to the DIS!!!
Wow! That would be fun - but so frustrating - so close, but so far away.
Of course I would always spend some time at Downtown Disney.
And what about "Resort Hopping?" - checking out all of the different resorts? (And their Restaurants? )
Don't know this would be in your budget, but how about breakfast or dinner at Chef Mickey's for a real dose of WDW without going into the parks?
Also, there is Pleasure Island BEFORE 7 pm - no charge.
Just reread your post and see that your DH will be at the Swan and Dolphin for his conference. That reminds me of something else to do. You can go to the Swan And Dolphin, and then go and "do the Boardwalk." You could take a stroll by the Yacht and Beach Club and have dinner at Beaches and Cream. And then there MUST be a place to check see the fireworks from Illuminations at night. I would ask.
ALSO, you could go to the Grand Floridian (there is a Pooh Character Breakfast, lunch and dinner there) in the evening and catch the Electric Boat Parade that passes every day.

At FW there is a campfire where the make smores [you can bring your own supplies] and then they show a Disney movie. Weather permitting.

Since he will be in meetings...You might not mind doing a timeshare presentation to get free WDW tickets. I never thought I would say that to someone but it would be ok to get to go to the parks without paying and it would only take a couple of hours.

Just a thought.

Hummmm, interesting thought Photobear. I would suggest that jennydep do a search on this board for Timeshare presentations and perhaps she can find one that might not be too painful.

I'm pretty sure that if you are married, both spouses must attend the presentation to get the free passes.

Watch the fireworks and electrical water parade from the shore of the Grand Floridian--you can see both from the boat dock or by Narcoosee's. While in the are, ride the resort monorail from GF to CR to Poly. Get off and wander if you've a mind too.

Go to the Market Place and DTD--ride the free boat from one side to the other.

Board Walk.

Go to Celebration-if you have a car. Drive around and look at the neighborhoods and have some coffee downtown.

Gatorland is really cool.

The miniature golf places all over town are really elaborate and you can find coupons in the local guide books.

Go see the evening duck parade at the Peabody.

Have a sundae at Beaches and Cream.

Have FUN and relax without the kids!
