My family was planning a trip from Australia to the US next Dec consisting of NYC, Washington DC, Orlando (Disney, Christmas with family then Universal), Las Vegas for NYE, LA then home.

We had planned Universal for Dec 28 and 29 - one day each park - with staying onsite for FOTL passes. My daughter is desperate to do WWOHP. But reading this site and the craziness of post Christmas is making me rethink a little. I could do NYC, Orlando Dec 14-26 (including Christmas with family), Washington DC Dec 27-30, Las Vegas, etc - bit messier but would probably mean we could definitely see WWOHP??

I know it is a long time in advance but I want to figure it out in time for the first release of flights (most likely to be cheapest since peak travel time here as summer holidays). What to do???

I would go with the Orlando 12/14-12/26. Shoot for Dec 16-Dec 18 as your safest timeframe to see WWOHP. You will get a chance to get into the park 1hr earlier by staying onsite, so be sure to use that!

Thanks - looks like I'm back to the drawing board - I guess the silver lining is that Universal on site hotels are much cheaper then!
