What to do at Disney when it's raining?

I am visiting WDW again in just over a week with family, but the forecast is for RAIN! We will have a half-day with no park passes, and if it's raining, we can't swim in our ASM pool, so what else can we do?

Am I remembering correctly that there is no admission to get into DTD?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions! :thumbsup2

When we're there, and there is no lightning, best time to swim is when its raining. you're wet anyway. Sometimes, when that afternoon cloud comes over and stays, we head to a water park to do just that, get wet some more and most everyone else has gone, leaves the park to us.

We also, on dank cool days, take in a movie at Disney Westside. Great theatre with tons of great movies. Cirque Soliel is another option and we like Fort Wilderness in the evening at Trails End for pizza and beer.

Visiting resort lounges is fun also, the list of things to do on a rainy day is endless, no need to camp in your room. Don a poncho and explore everything there.

Sorry to be dumb about this but am I recalling correctly that you don't have to pay to go to Downtown Disney, just to do most of the things that are there (besides shop and eat)...it's been a few years...
thanks!!!!

Downtown Disney is free and there is plenty to occupy your family with for half a day. There are dozens of stores, Ghirrideli's Ice Cream shop, and tons of restaurants. I usually spend at least half a day there exploring everything there is to see.
