they're expecting RAIN this weekend

Whats the best things to do at Disney (or the orlando area) when it rains ???

I was thinking about EPCOT center, is that the best bet for a rainy weekend ??

What indoor activities are the best bet ?????

Go to the parks! I've had a great time touring World Showcase in the rain, with or without my yellow Mickey poncho. Hey, it's only water and you'll eventually dry out. There are rides to go on, shopping, dining. And Orlando storms are not typically long lived.

Or you could go to DisneyQuest or shop in DTD. Catch a movie.

I say just throw on rain ponchos and do what you would have done normally. You might find the parks a tiny bit less crowded. Don't let a little rain stop you!

I work so long and hard on my plans....that when the time is there...I just put on that Mickey slicker and off we go!

I need a good list of things to do when it rains in Orlando

I want to go to epcot but what exactly is indoor stuff ??

Is EPCOT the best bet ?? ?

What exactly should I do when it rains and pours in Orlando ??

When we went to Epcot last July, it rained off and on for most of the day. The only ride that closed was Test Track, and that was only temporary. We just threw on ponchos and went about touring the park. All of the pavilions were open. England looked so more realistic with the cloudy grey skies. Just like I remembered it being when we were in London. :) It was my DH and DS first trip to the World, and even though it rained the whole day, they still think Epcot was the most fun. My only suggestion is that you wear tennis shoes and bring a pair of extra socks. I left for the trip without my tennis shoes and would up having to do Epcot in black leather slip on sandals. My feet were wet and my sandals were warped. We stopped at the Reebok outlet that night :rotfl:

THank you very much but I need more suggestions for when its RAINING in Orlando....

EPCOT is on my list, What else ????????

The only things Disney is likely to close when it rains are the outside rides -- Test Track, Dumbo, etc -- and even those won't close unless it's a true downpour and it becomes a safety thing. It's rare for rides to be closed due to weather, but if it happens, there's plenty of other stuff to visit, ride and see. Just head inside!

As for what to do if it rains? Grab a poncho and keep on going!

Anything you do without rain, you can do with rain. MK, MGM, Animal Kingdom -- all of them are great on a rainy day. The animals at DAK are especially active, because they like playing in the rain as much as the next species. :umbrella:

If you feel as though you need to be inside, Disney Quest isn't exactly a good choice since it will be packed on rainy days. In fact, all of the indoor areas on International Drive and 192 will be extremely crowded. Best bet, truly, is to stay in the parks, as they will empty out and you'll have a great time in an uncrowded (if soggy) place.

Do a waterpark. No crouds and you get wet anyway. I wouldnt even consider DisneyQuest. Everyone will have the same idea and it will be packed.

ok I got my PONCHO, but I still want to explore Orlando and Disney World in the RAIN, ...

So give me a list of things to do when it RAINS !!!!!!

You can blame the weekend weather on me. The weather is ALWAYS strange when I'm at WDW. I've been there through hurricanes, tornado warnings, freezes (in an 8x10 foot tent, and the zipper froze shut so that we couldn't get out until the sun came up over the trees), and that really cold, wet week in Dec. 2002. Last December it was freezing the day we came home. I arrive Friday, and leave Tuesday. If you've planned to be there during that time, you may want to bring ponchos, boots, snow suits, etc.!

In the meantime, I've learned to love WDW when it rains. The rolling clouds make beautiful photo backgrounds, and the wimpiest of the "day guests" all stay home!

Last trip we had an awesome time on a day that it rained - it was actually more fun than a sunny day because it was much cooler and the crowds were less!

And honestly, I wouldn't worry about the weather forecast until literally the day of. Don't let it get you down, just think of it this way - if it rains, it rains and you will still have an awesome time!

I love the optimism (what a surprise on the happiest place on Earth) but...

I'm still looking for a list of things that are perfect for a rainy day. ...

I got my poncho, tennis shoes and now I need a list of things to plan my rainy weekend in Orlando....

Whats the best bet when it rains ?????

wellllll.. *breaths* I think people *have* been telling you what to do when it rains. To go about buisness as normal inside the parks.. Wear a poncho, and have fun. Go to epcot, there are a lot of indoor things there if you don't feel like being out in the elements the whole time. Go to Kids Quest. Go to the water parks if it is not storming. .... there, those are ideas.

umm I am not an optimist - disney lover or not LOL I prefer the term "realist" :umbrella: and, not trying to be funny or mean but in all of your posts all over the boards, aren't there atleast a few ideas?
