What to do after the parks close?

We like to hit the pools. It's a nice way to relax and stretch after the day.
We are going in August as well and found pool time is key during the hot summer months

I go back to the room, prep for the next day and then sleep so that we are quickly out of the room and on our way the next morning.

We refuse to be part of the herd (people that rush out after fireworks) and we find that its a good time to get a ride in, do some shopping since stores are open longer or sit down with some ice cream and watch those people rushing and pushing to get out of the park, ONLY to stand in line for their transportation. Bwwaahahaha

DS is really the only place to go on-site for late night stuff.

Go back to the hotel and fall asleep while watching classic Disney cartoons. The Donald Duck and Chip n' Dale ones are my favorites.

We normally hit something with a line toward the back of the park(Haunted Mansion in a MK tradition), then we slowly exit. A 10:00 closure means we actually leave 10:30-11. Resort around 11:30, shower, and bed.

But with a 10p close, we would eat a snack or ice cream, watch a goodnight kiss or 2...only to face a mass of people at the monorail entrances at 11pm

Then wander to the train station platform for the second KG, people watch and just take in the ambience until the heard clears.

What do we do after the parks close?

We haven't stayed until a 10:00 pm park closing for years. We typically head out around 7:00 or 8:00 at the latest.

However, we do often have a drink back at our resort bar or drink champagne from the balcony of our resort room.

With MK closing at 10 pm most nights this summer, I'm just wondering what people have been or are planning on doing after close. I've read it can take quite a while to get out of the park at close and just wondering if people leaving head over to AK or DS, or is there is even enough time to do that?

If the park closed at 10, I'd sit around on Main Street and have an ice cream, do some shopping and meander on out to the bus stop shortly after 11, then go to bed once I got back to the resort, but maybe I'd have an adult beverage at the resort bar first.

Not sure about Disney Springs.... but I do know that resort pools close at 8pm. Posted pool hours everywhere I saw were: 10 AM to 8 PM

Heck, when the park closes at 9 I go back and go to bed so I do the same at a 10 closing.

Unfortunately the pools usually close early too. Around 10pm in the summer I thought. I haven't gone swimming at my resort in years because of it. The quiet pools are open later I think. As long as you are quiet and don't bother the other guests.

As far as what there is to do in DS, after midnight it's drink or eat, maybe do some bowling. The stores close between 11p and midnight. I need to check their website again to confirm.

I think hotel bars close at midnight? Can always buy a bottle of wine and relax in your room. We would bring a couple glasses of wine outside and sit on the beach at Beach Club last trip. Nice.

Close down the park, eat dinner, have drinks. I've noticed if the bars at the Swolphin are busy, they stay open past closing. If there is a conference, this will happen. I do RD, long midday swim/nap/out of the sun/crowds, and up late days. It works for me. DS is always an option too.
