What to do about booster seats?

We are renting a car from MCO for our trip. We are bringing our two booster seats with us in our suitcases. However, they take up A LOT of space. Do you know if we can gate check these? We thought it wouldn't be too bad, and it's not, but I'm afraid about when we come home and we don't have as much space since we'll be buying souvenirs. Any ideas or thoughts? Thanks!

You can also check car seats as luggage for no extra fee! (I would bag them if you do this though).

Had 2 booster seats and I bought a plastic tub big enough to stow them in and checked them. I was flying southwest so didn't have to pay anything extra. Just used some strapping tape to seal them and putting the seats in the storage tub - plus there was some dead space between the 2 seats and I was able to stow extra stuff coming home

What a great idea :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Also, if you don't want to bring your own boosters (getting them dirty, having to carry them), you could order a couple inexpensive ones from walmart and have them delivered to one of the closely located ones and pick it up there. We did this one year, because we were already bringing a baby carrier and didn't want to lug the booster on the flight and at the hotel. The DW and kids took the ME and I went to walmart and picked up a booster for about $20, then left it when we went home.

Bubble bum. Inflatable boosters. Deflate to almost flat. They weigh less than a pound. I keep a couple in my car in case I have to unexpectedly have to pick up one or two of my girls friends.

You guys are always so helpful. I had no idea what the "red" bags were so I googled it and bought one. I called Jet Blue today and they said I can gate check them, so that's perfect! I'm not as worried for our trip down, but more for our trip back.

Gracie-I just saw those inflatable ones. Are they sturdy? Do you blow it up yourself? I was wondering how those worked. Thanks!

Yes. They pass all the safety test other booster seats do. Take less than a minute to inflate and deflate.

We hAve one for travel and our 2nd spare at home And they are great for those purposes! I don't like using them everyday because it's a pain to click the belts in sometimes, but great for our needs!
