My DH and DS9, collect the pressed pennies from wherever we go.... THey have books of them. Very fun thing that will bring back tons of family memories. DD2 has never been to disney- we are going in 3 weeks- also going on DCL. I want to start collecting something for her from our vacations.. Probably something fairly small (her bedroom and toyroom is already overloaded with "STUFF"). I love the pennies cause they are cheap, fun and small. DD's collection doesnt have to be that cheap or small- just didnt want to go with picture frames, stuffed animals etc. Any ideas?

My DD8 has loved collecting snow globes since she was 2. Most vacation destinations have very small ones. She now also has large ones. We box up the holiday globes and get them out for her to enjoy around holidays.

Two might be a little young, but something my DD started at about 4 was the little charm bracelet that you can add the charms to. It's not expensive at all, maybe $5 for the plain bracelet and another $2-4 for the various little charms. We have a bracelet full as she likes to pick a charm at each park. DD also has a pin lanyard that she's enjoyed for several years. Just wanted to throw some ideas to ya. Have a wonderful trip!

My boys love their pin collections on their lanyards---they don't trade (yet) because they want to keep the ones they chose so carefully!!

I have seen pink girl lanyards---she could add a couple of pins every trip for around $20 or so.

Then, just hang the lanyard on a bulletin board or something to display it.

I would definately say the pins and a lanyard. They are great because she can pick out her favorite characters and also pick out ones of the parks, favorite rides, the resort you visited, the year you visited, etc. The pins are always changing so it will give her something to look forward to every year without having it be too expensive or too large to pack!

How about a WDW ornament? I know they sell them at MK's Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe and also at DTD's Christmas store.

I had someone give me a Precious Moments ornament years (and I mean years) ago and to this day I still get a new PM ornament every year. :flower:

Thanks everyone! I liked every single idea!!! I am gonna have to think about this one!

My second youngest cousin, she's going to five next month, absolutely love pin trading when she was down here in November.

NickandLivvysmom - What part of OH are you from? I'm originally from Toledo! Moved down to Tampa Bay area in 1997.

when I was little I started collecting spoons - you can get them anywhere!!

I also second the pin idea!!!

Tinkerbell- Wow! We live in Sandusky..... About 5 minutes away from Cedar Point.... We have family in ClearWater! How funny!!!!

I know you said no stuffed animals, but my DD has been collecting the "little" beanies since she was 1. She now has a huge collection, but they bring back such memories. We go for the exclusive park ones, like the Haunted Mansion Mickey and Tour of Terror Goofy, and she remembers where she was and each trip that she got one.

I have a DS who is 4 and a DD who turned 3 after our last trip. I had tons of pins so i got them into trading. I had them use my traders for stuff they wanted.

The only thing i would suggest is if you do the pin idea is to invest in the locking pin backs so your daughter cant get the pins off the lanyard by herself. I started using the locking backs after i noticed my DD taking the backs off the pins. I didnt want her to swallow the back or pinch herself with the pin.

I think snowglobes and pins are great. But this gets expensive. My boyfriends son collects pencils. I know the first time down in Disney he started collecting pencils. I know they have pencils from all the countries in Epcot - I think with their flag or the colors of the country. There are alot of pencils from all other areas of the parks also. These are great, inexpensive (usually under $1.00) and you can keep them in a pencil case. I got him a wooden box at a craft fair and had them put his name and Pencil Collection on the box.

Whatever you decid on, happy collecting.

My sister started collecting keychains from our (and friends' and family's) vacations when she was pretty little, and still has the collection now that she's in college.

Everyone always tried to find her unique keychains from wherever they were - so it was great to know what to buy for her as a gift.

Another vote for snowglobes. My MIL bought my DD her first one when she was less then a year old. She gets a new big one every year for Christmas and gets one at every place we visit....she now has over 50......

Penny presses are big with us, also we buy a set of christmas orns. from the christmas store at DTD. Pins are popular also, but my boys aren't really into that as of yet.

At World of Disney, they have statues of the princesses that are about $10 each. They have all the princesses and a few other characters. They are not overly large and would make a nice collection to add to every trip.
