I have bought all the other teachers, bus drivers, etc. Mrs Prindables Apples but my dd's dance teacher can't eat anything with wheat or gluten etc. I don't want too spend much, but I always feel bad when I forgett and give her goodies she can't eat! :sad1:

there are lots of gluten free treats out there! if you look at a larger chain grocery store or speciality shop there are gluten free cake mixes etc. make her a nice batch of gluten free brownies etc. or a bag of starbucks coffee ($8 at Target). my best friend has celiac and my GF's son is on a gluten free diet b/c of autism. there are alternatives for almost everything normally made with wheat/gluten. HTH.

Check with Mrs. Prindables customer service...I don't think they contain either. Caramel is made from sugar and butter and I don't think chocolate contains them either. Check with CS to be sure, but it sounds like a great gift for someone with those dietary restrictions!

My husband has celiac's and I am pretty sure he could eat those.
I looked at the website and I don't see any ingredients that would be troublesome.

I always buy the dance teachers $5.00 gift cards for Dunkin Donuts (if I didn't live where DD was prevalent, I'd go with Starbucks). They all always seem to have a cup of DD in their hands, so I know that they use the cards...and that seems to be the most common thing that they get, according to my 12 year old.

If the Cookies 'n Creme version is made with Oreos, there's a good possibility of cross-contamination to the other flavors. I'd go with something else.

I would suggest a gift card to anywhere that she would shop like Whole Foods or Traders Joes but do you have a dance supply store in your area because a gift card to a place like that might be nice as well.

If she has celiacs avoid gift cards to dunkin donuts. Since she can't eat anything there, it'd be better to go with a starbucks or other coffee shop gift card.

As a teacher with celiacs I have to say it sweet of you to take that into consideration. Few parents due and so those food gifts go to friends, roommates, and co-workers.

Most grocery stores that carry organics will carry mixes and or cookies that are gluten free. Also, chocolate (but check labels) is usually a safe option.

Thanks for all the ideas! While we don't have a Whole Food's or Trader Joes ( we live in a rural area) we do have several heath food stores in our area and I will stop and see if the have candy or maybe a gift card. Thanks so much for all the help! She was one of the last people on my list. I leave for WDW tomorrow so I needed to have an idea in place, as we don't return till 12/14! :goodvibes

You could also do a non-food type gift card like blockbuster or walmart or another store in your area. Enjoy your trip!!!! Linda :)

I'd second the iTunes gift card. My DD's dance teachers all keep their music on their iPods for classes. Definitely something a dance teacher can use.
