Hello.

I will be visiting Walt Disney World in December, and I have heard and seen online that the weather is not going to be great. Rain and freezing cold temperatures (according to the Floridians). So I was wondering:

When travelling in december to FLA, do you bring a winter coat - NO WAY IN THE WORLD WILL I EVER DO THAT.
Do you bring gloves? A scarf?

Thanks!!

Two years ago we were at MVMCP in long johns, and a thick sweater. I always bring a fleece coat type thing that I wear in the fall in Michigan. I refuse to bring my winter coat.

Last year we didn't need the long johns, but I always bring sweater(s) and long pants. The weather two weeks out is hard to forcast. Check back when it gets closer to your trip.

Excellent, thank you!

I was planning on bringing my sandals and capris, but now i'm second guessing that.

Hat, gloves, scarf and coat always go with us in Dec. We have always needed them, or some combination of them at night.

I was there last December. It was impossible for them to forecast the weather one day out. "Rain the next day" = beautiful, sunny, 70s.

A fleece (and some long pants) worked fine, even in the evening.

One light jacket and that is it - otherwise, it's shorts and t-shirts. I brought sweaters and long pants last December for the evenings and they never made it out of the suitcase.

Not sure where you are saw freezing and rain, the site I've been using shows mid 70's durning the day, 60's in the evening for there 10 day forcast.

However, I don't think any of them have a clue. :confused3

I am a Brit, so i have a warped perception of cold, and rain means nothing to me. I would bring a light coat and long trousers for night time, but when we went a christmas, we were still wearing shorts but with a warmer jumper in the mornings and evenings.

I would bring more rather than less, give yourself some options!

Have a great trip!

Freezing for a lot of Floridians means 60's. :) We are in NW FL and yesterday it was shorts and t-shirt weather - upper 70's and low humidity. We've gone to WDW during Dec. and there have been times when it was shirt, pants, pullover and hat weather and other times when it was capris and short-sleeved weather. I would say pack things that you can layer. HTH

One night (Dec 2) it's listed as a possibility to go down to 39F. It will feel 32F...prepare for that if you'll be out that night.

All other nights will be in the 50's or thereabouts.

I have been to Orlando in December when the temps fell into the low 30's in the evening. I had a light jacket with me. It was not NEARLY enough...the cold was very damp and uncomfortable, and I'm from MA, where I'm pretty accustomed to damp and uncomfortable. Bring at least a fleece layer and a windbreaker layer, and a long pair of pants, gloves, and a hat.

The rest of the week I was there got up into the 80's in the daytime. Prepare for that, too.

Instead of a winter coat, we take a sweatshirt (fleece or other) and then a waterproof shell. That way you'll have more choices, and when put together they're about the same warmth as a coat would be.

Layers, layers, layers is the answer.

Mittens did come in handy when waiting for the fireworks at night. It was quite cold and standing around not moving for a while doesn't help with that.:)

We've gone down twice in December now and both years we hit real cold snaps. Low 40's during the day and low 30's at night, with it warming up to the 60's the day we went home the last trip. I would definately bring along some warm wear to be on the safe side. I always bring my minnie mouse santa hat:santa: to wear in the parks. We are going this year over Christmas week so I am hoping for warmer weather:goodvibes

Have a Great! time......:woohoo:

I changed into shorts this afternoon after a half hour walking around DTD in Jeans. DH and I did notice that alot of people were wearing Jeans with no issue. Whip

We have gone the last few years in Dec...

Here is what I have learned.

Be prepared for swimming weather or cold in te 30's...all in the span of two days.

No matter what they say the temp is you dress wrong and end up having to buy a sweatshirt or short sleeve shirt because you to hot or cold... :confused3 My DH swears it is the weather man are working off Disney commision :lmao:
