Trying to figure out the best times to plan out my meals.

We'll be eating FREE breakfasts at the hotel each morning around
7:00 AM.

When should we eat Lunch?

A Snack??

and Dinner??

 :wave2:

I think it depends on your family and your eating schedule. If I ate at 7am, then I would be hungry about 10. But since 7am doesnt exist in my world (wink wink), I don't have to eat that early...

We usually try to avoid eating anywhere in WDW around the typical lunch hours because the places are swamped... so if you can eat lunch earlier or later, you'll be better off crowd wise, and just snack in between.

Figure out how often your family eats right now, and figure in some snacks to tide you between since you're likely burning more calories than a normal day, and you'll probably be doing okay =)

Do you have kids with you who need an early bedtime? Or is your group older?

This is how we do it for our family who have all been above 16 for years. We have lunch around 1:30 or 2, to avoid the crowds. Dinner is around 7:30 or 8, sometimes later. A snack is grabbed when ever you want one. It all depends on what park we are in, when we are leaving the park... things like that. Like one night, we might go to Spoodles after Illuminations, so our PS would be 9:30.

Breakfast, Lunch, Snack and dinner would be too much for us!!
We eat a full breakfast at 8:00-8:30 then a big dinner at 6:00. In between, maybe a lemonade if it's really hot.
But never lunch or a snack.

lunch v dinner times usually depend on the other's PS.

For example, if we are going for the Rose and Crown, we eat late to watch Illuminations, so we have a later lunch.

But if we can only get an early PS for someplace we really want to eat, then everything shirts earlier.

I agree wtih Uncleromulus - we could never do 3 large meals a day. We (only adults, though) just do coffee for breakfast, and light lunch around 1 or so, and then a big dinner. We don't like to take time out for a big sit-down lunch too much, because then we are missing time for attractions!

Since we have little ones, I found it best to stick to their nomal feeding times!! LOL! They are such creatures of habbit. So we eat breakfast when we get up, lunch at 11:30 (before the crowds also), snack at 3-4ish and dinner at 6pm. I even made the dinner PS at 5:30 so we would eat at 6! Again this was before the crowds. Occasionally we deviated from this and had dinner PS at 7:30 for the Rose and Crown. So what do I do, but feed the little ones a snack at 6 in the room!

Our times varry as our days do. Two big meals a day however is enough for us too. It took a few trips to figure out that we get hungry quicker at WDW that we would think. Most of the time we skip or grab just a bite for breakfast and then do lunch around 11:00 or as early as the PS will allow. We then do dinner around 6:00. Sometimes we will do a big late breakfast (10:00) and then do dinner around 5. We have found most of the time we can adjust our PS times if we are hungry earlier or latter.

We do one PS buffet a day at either lunch or dinner. I try to get the earliest lunch ressie since we do light breakfast in room. A lunch buffet fills us up enough that we only need a light dinner. If I do a dinner buffet, we have a light lunch and I try to get the earliest seating for that too. Since I dont enjoy going to bed with an overly full belly, I try to plan after dinner activities for dinner buffet nights. If I dont get some form of exercise afterwards, my waistline really pays :( :(

We were pretty erratic with our meals.

Breakfast was always at the hotel. And then we take in snacks of fruit and nuts, crackers etc for mid morning.

Lunch is usually a sandwich we bring along, and then we buy one meal in the parks, whenever we see what strikes us.

Snacks are usually when we are waiting for a show or concert or on the way out.

Again, it all depends on your family and their needs.

With little ones, this is what works for us...

Lite early breakfast at the hotel
Lunch around 11:00
Dinner around 5:00 or so
sometimes a small snack in between lunch and dinner, like a Mickey bar or some popcorn, but not everyday.

With lunch and dinner, we usually do one sit down and one counter service meal each day. 11 and 5 are pretty good times. We seem to avoid the crowds (This was during May and Oct.)

Hope that helps!
