I have a return too out of ft lauderdale on 11/30 to Columbus

and was on when they were released and half of the wga flights were gone and the others were $269 at the cheapest! I had no choice but to get them because we are cruising with Disney out of Miami. I can believe how quick they went and how expensive they were! I watched the prices last year at that time and they weren't that much and that was a few months before thanksgiving! Maybe they'll drop in price?

We booked a NS from Indy to Ft. Lauderdale and then from MCO to Indy....it was almost 70,000 points (and that was with the companion pass!)....hopefully they will go down from here. I did get my the "this flight is full" message but I called and they were able to add my DH as a companion.

It took a while to complete the reservations. I bought $600 of Southwest gift cards and had to book one way reservations, so I could use 3 gift cards per reservations. Then, I found out I had to book my reservations first because when I booked my 7 year old, as he is a minor, Southwest wanted an adult, flying the same itinerary, to link his ticket to. It took me close to an hour but I got what I wanted and the fares didn't change between reservations.

Booked as soon as it opened from Chicago to Orlando $135/$137 each way for early November. A decent price and was happy with the flight times. Have been checking back and flights are still the same price and nothing sold out. Looking forward to F&W!

After reading everyone's posts I'm feeling a lot better about the fare I got . I was able to book a NS out of Indy on Nov. 28th for $209 and the return flight for Dec. 11th for $122.

Wow, I just went back and checked the flights I booked to see if anything changed. The way there is sold out already! The way back is $40 round trip more expensive per person (so $200 more for us). So glad I got up this morning to book!!

Not as low as I wanted. But booked at 7:20 this morning. Funny, when I bought round trip, they said fares sold out for my outbound. So, I changed to another flight that I did not want as much. After I bought, I did change, and I changed to the flight that I wanted all along, at a lower price. So, travel funds for a trip later in the next year. At least I am done, but I will keep checking though.

Very disappointed - hoped to fly MHT to MCO on 11/29 and return 12/4 or 12/5 - NO wanna get away fares on 11/29 - I was on right when they opened. I'm very temped to cuss right about now !:furious:

That's what I want to know as well. Such a letdown and it seems no matter what city I check, 29th does not have any get away fares .

Bought our return flight home on SW this morning! Flying home on December 11th, $133 per person. I added EBCI for a total of $436 for 3 tix. I had been checking the flight times for the nonstop flights for a while now, previously the nonstop flight was at about 3p, arriving home at 5:30 but now that the schedule opened up, the only nonstop offered on our date leaves MCO at 7pm, more time to relax at the resort!!

We have our airfare down to MCO through JetBlue, the prices were $12 back in March so I bought them, it was $361 for our 3 tickets. So total for this trip we're spending $797 on airfare, not bad at all IMO!

Crud.

I went to book our flights from New England to Orlando for November 29 - December 6 and the cheap flights on the 29th were all gone. I'm lucky in that there are only 2 of us and we can use our Southwest Rewards points for our flights. But instead of one-way being 6,500 points they were 42,000 points! I looked into changing our vacation dates but there are no DVC Studios available for the first week of December. I ended up buying flights for the 29th on JetBlue. They weren't super expensive ($320 for the 2 of us). We're able to use our SW points for our flights home. Still, it was $300 that I hadn't planned on spending and Jetblue won't let me move around our flights like SW will.

and I just spilled my coffee all over my desk.

Darn, Darn, Darn! May got away from me and I forgot to get up early to book. Paid $160 each way... so bummed. Hopefully there will be a fare from closer to our travel dates. :sail:

On hold with reservations now... tried to book a companion ticket but the system won't let me even though there are seat available. And my son & dtr have the same confirmation number???? Not sure that's right. At least it's never happened before.

I remember this happening the Sunday after Thanksgiving two years ago. DM and I ended up flying late Saturday night because there were absolutely no WGA fares available that Sunday...I think it's just a high travel time.

I think we are going the same week as you...11/8-11/13? Eventually I got it sorted out, but it took almost an hour on the phone! YIKES!

They started saying they were "sold out" to me too, but I could still see them, so I got transferred around a bit to different reps. Eventually they said to wait an hour so they could get everything sorted out and add more seats and try again. Just as I was about to hang up, the rep said to hold on they found a work around. This is airline speak, but she said she was able to "overbook using X" -- now granted I have no flipping idea what that means, but it totally worked!

I got my hubby's confirmation number about three minutes later and we are all set. I'm glad I was persistent because now it appears that our flight and the flight just before us (going down to MCO) is sold out. I'm sure it's not really sold out, but they probably haven't loaded enough seats. I suspect we'll see these open up in time.

Good luck DisPals...lots of pixie dust being sent your way for cheap flights and convienient times heading to/fro the happiest place on earth!

We're actually coming home on Nov 8. Still can't add the companion pass. I'm on hold now, but since I'm at work, this is a big pain! And other flights I was contemplating (flying home to PHL instead of EWR to get a nonstop) are now sold out. I'm booking on points so no issue for me with credits or anything, so I booked my boyfriend his own ticket on points and will try to get it switched to the companion and get my points back. Almost 18,000 points 1 way, it's ridiculous. And it wasn't any lower when it opened this morning. No way I'm paying that for 2 people. The companion pass makes it a little easier to swallow.

And this could all be for naught, as we don't even know our exact dates yet, since we're waiting on an RCI exchange. But I figured this would be the hardest date to get out of all the possibilities we have.

I am so glad I got up at 6! I booked all on points. I got great travel times both ways and spent 71,000 rapid rewards for the 5 of us out of BWI. No EBCI. I need to get the SW gift cards with my Target Red card to buy them.

The rep I got (after holding for 40 minutes) told me all she could do was put the flight on hold for my companion. She said she just went through it with someone else and had gotten a manager and that's the best they could do. I told her I had already booked my companion's ticket using points, so putting it on hold was pointless. She said they are working on it and it should be fixed today. But how frustrating. How many people are going to get locked out of the companion pass because flights sell out first?

Right now, if we go Oct 28-Nov 8, our roundtrip cost is 24,068 points for the 2 of us using the companion pass. Only because I got Oct 28 for 6212 points back in December. Nov 8 back to Jersey is rough.

Ugh -- I got caught up in work assignment and delayed my booking. At least the flights were still available (BDL-MCO second week Nov.) at an okay, not great, price. Also, the SW site did that thing where if you book both they are higher price, but separately one is cheaper. Now I will stalk it until the other one goes down (which no doubt will not be helped by me clicking on it) :bored:.

The flight that I wanted was sold out when I went to purchase tickets. I am not entirely sure why it was that popular, it's not during any holiday time :confused3

Has anyone had the experience of a flight being sold out, but being able to book it at a later date? How often have you seen that happen?

I assume some people booked it today, but may have plans change or whatnot (and with SW no fee policy it's easy to switch flights).

I am just wondering the chances of this flight opening up spots next month, in two month etc.

Thanks!

I logged on at 6am and the day I wanted was crazy expensive (11/28), but the day before was affordable, so now we have to cut our trip by a day. By the time I purchased the tickets they had went up $30 per ticket! The flight is now sold out a couple hours later.

Hi! I was on the website checking every few minutes since 5:55 this morning. I was paid for and had my confirmation emails by 6:10. I booked NS out of MHT to MCO 10/31 and NS back 11/09 $130 a piece. I was pretty excited about the price, as it was $200 less than what we paid last year for the same flights. But it's now 10:40am and all the nonstops on my days are "sold out". Needless to say I feel even better about the deal I got and that I had to wake up early for it! Thanks to the DIS for telling me about release dates and times!!

kI was on hold for a long time too. Ended up specking the the supervisor's supervisor :-):yoda::) And they were able to push it through. The first rep confirmed that the flight I wanted to add a companion to was wide open and said their system was glitchy today. Hopefully this means that everyone having issues this AM will be able to get what they want/need this afternoon or tomorrow.

It is frustrating though, for sure.
