What time will rope drop really be at DHS and MK?

At the parks now and planning to hit DHS tomorrow and MK on Saturday. Rope drop is scheduled for 9am both days. What time can I really expect rope drop to happen? I know it's often earlier than the posted time. Thanks!

You never really know.... On Feb 1st we were at HS and they opened the tapstiles at about 8:35. Our 2 MK days it was about 8:45 when the opening show ended and we could go under the tunnel.

Best bet is to be there at the most 45 minutes or at least 30 minutes. That way you can be there before rope drop and even catch the MK show.

For MK, the welcome show should start at 8:40 for a regular 9:00 opening. It's around 6-7 minutes long, and rope drop will be immediately after.

As OP said the rope will drop but you will be met with more CMs and another rope to take you to the main hub.

Not sure what you mean by this... At both HS and MK there were no ropes. Once we were through the tapstiles at HS, or the welcome show ended at MK, we were free to go wherever in the parks. We weren't held at a second "rope."

We were held at a second rope at the beginning of main street to be taken down to the castle.
