What time of day to schedule Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique appointment?

We are going to DL on a Tues & Wed (5/28-5/29), but I am seriously considering adding a 3rd day on Thurs 5/30. My 2 DDs are totally into princesses & fairies, so I want to schedule them with a reservation/appointment at BBB while we're there.

I plan on buying a Disney princess dress for each of them prior to our arrival at DL, so they'll change into the dresses at BBB.

Do any of you have thoughts or advice on what time of day to schedule the reservation for? If DL starts its summer hours at that point in May, then I think our EMH will start at 7am instead of 8am. I don't want to do the BBB thing in the afternoon because then they'll only have a few hours in the park all dressed up.

So I think we should do it in the morning. I was considering doing it mid-morning around 10am or maybe if it opens at 9am...which by that point, my kids will be ready for a break anyway.

Your thoughts?

Definitely try to go early in the day so they can enjoy walking the park all dressed up. I did it that way with my DD and she loved all the attention she got afterwards. We even did the photo shoot and got some great pictures. We are going to DL for the first time in July so I am planning to surprise her with an appointment. She loved the experience at WDW. We did it at MK and it was neat being in the castle.

I prefer first appointment as well. As the day goes on, they may get behind with their appointments. If you can, try and book lunch or dinner at Ariel's Grotto on the same day as BBB.

Ditto early in the day, and why not just let them wear the dresses to the park? So much less to carry!

I thought of letting them wear the dresses first thing in the morning, but the BBB thing is going to be a surprise. Ariel's Grotto for breakfast or lunch is going to be too expensive for us and it's not in our budget. I am going to skip on the package that includes painting nails because I'm going to paint their nails the night before (I have found that, for my kids at least, it is a great way to get them to sit still & quiet & to calm down for a few minutes).

I was thinking of 9:45 or 10am-ish for the BBB reservation. But I have no idea right now:

1. What the official opening time is yet for DL on 5/28 (and likely won't until a few weeks before, based on what I've read on these boards)
2. How soon after DL park opening the BBB place opens.
3. What time the various princess & fairy meet-and-greets start. From what I've read so far, right now there are:

- Tinkerbell & the other fairies
- Merida - this is a big deal for me personally because I have red curly hair just like Merida. :-)
- Rapunzel - who is YDD's favorite (because purple is YDD's favorite color)
- the regular princess meet-and-greet

I doubt that we'll be able to do all of those in the 2-3 days that we'll be at DL and my kids will likely have a melt down if they have to wait around all day to meet all of the fairies & princesses. So if we get through one, then that's great. 2 is icing on the cake.

As early in the day, and as early in your stay, as possible. My daughter's princess hair lasted several days (using a shower cap when she bathed) and she really liked that!!! It also made her hair the easiest to do it has ever been. Just pin the stray flyaways and head out! Let them be princesses for as long as they can, it doesn't last nearly long enough.

I have made our appointment at the bbb on friday (that is our middle of the stay day) at 1115 am, park opens at 8 so I thought we could do a few rides together as a family then i'll take my daughter and my 5 year old son (who is being done up as a knight) to the bbb and my husband and other 3 boys can do some bigger kid rides. we will be in the park until closing that night (its the first night woc is open on our stay) so that is lots of time to be a princess :) and she will have two more days to be princess if her hair holds up.

We wont be doing the ariels grotto lunch either, because I have four boys and one girl and I think the boys would ruin it for her and its too many hours for our family to seperate during our vacation. So we will be hunting down the princess meet and greets for her hopefully on the wednesday thurs so the lines are shorter

Based on our experience in November, Tinkerbell & the Fairies run from 9-5 and change characters every 30 minutes. Merida and the princesses start at 9am and are only a short walk from each other. Rapunzel I want to say went from 11-5.

Just wanted to add that if you do the BBB, you get front of line at the fantasy faire to meet whatever 3 princesses are there. I saw them do a 'royal announcement' as the girls were brought out towards the faire area under a cute little parasol with a sash.

I havent done it yet for my dd, but I did go in and inquire about the packages. It will save you a 30 to 75 minute wait at that Meet and Greet at least!

Very interested in the pp! How do they know if you've been to BBB in order to get that perk? I haven't ever been to BBB, but sure would take my 5 yo - I have been waffling - if it would save us some time at the PFF!

Wow if they really do that, then that is pretty awesome and will definitely save us some time waiting in line at PFF. I am going to ask about it when we make our BBB appts.

I already told my kids that only little girls are allowed to dress up at princesses at DL (except for the actual princesses themselves) and they are really excited about going. I have the two princess dresses hidden away in the garage along with some Disney t-shirts as a surprise.

I am so excited....I do not know how I am going to wait two more months. Our kids do not know we are going to DL. They just think that we are going to visit their cousins in San Diego on Memorial day weekend after the school year ends.

I cannot WAIT to surprise them in the car with "Hey instead of driving back home, let's go to Disneyland instead today!"

Wow! This would be great! Is this something new? I have never heard this mentioned before.

We went on the opening day of the Fantasy Faire, March 12. The old Princess walk wasnt close to BBB. Now it is right next door. You can see the exit door of BBB from the line to see princesses. I guess it is new this week then. ?? I had never been to either place before this last Tuesday and that is what they told me!

Someone from BBB walks the girls down the walkway right to the to meet the princesses. I did see them do that but I didnt stalk them to see where they ended up. They do have a VIP entrance though that got used right before we went in (and we had to wait . argh!). I imagine that is what they use.

I took a photo of my daughter from the door at BBB with the Faire behind her shpwing how close it is. I'll go find it...

Hmm, they didn't take my daughter to the princess area after her appt on March 13. They did the announcement and walked her out with the parasol, but that was it. That would have been nice!

I am standing in front of the BBB exit door. The ladies looking back at my daughter are in line for the princesses. BBB girls walk down past past the line almost to the hub before turning into the Faire area. (I have a zoomish lens here so I'm a bit further than it seems)

They make loud announcements about the newly 'done' princess and hold a parasol over her head.

Hmmm...

When I asked, I asked about having it done for my daughters birthday. So it might be just for that. Or it could be a certain package. I swear it's what they told me though!

??

eta: I also remember knowing how long the line was and asking if I could buy JUST that part of their package!! It was a 75 min wait at the time.

Bump ;)

Anyone heard anything more about this?

I asked them and they said to get to the front of the line to meet the princesses you need to buy the Castle package...the one that includes a dress and special photoshoot at another location.
