What Time of Day Do You Workout?

wait hold up.. what is this "work out" you speak of? is this some new computer thing i have missed? or maybe some really sadistic ritual?
sounds painful. 4 am? sleep at 4 am,,, 5 am,, feed cats,, 6 am drink coffee and dis till 7 or 8 or later..lol... i have never had to work out,, as a carpenter i gotr more than enough exercise on the job,, now that i am dis abled though, and cant work or workout,,, i am getting rather flabby:) tolddw the other day i gona have to double my price when i get to go back to work,, i goingto be twice the man i was :)

since i last posted i thought about your question more.

i do watch a lot of tv and that requires some exercise since my remote is out of batteries.
and, i have on occassion watched some work out shows. remember richard simmons............now that was the man.::yes::

I like to work out in the mornings. The pool is less crowded and I may not have to share a lap lane.

I like to lift weights in the evening. It's not really my favorite activity, but I do it three times a week.

I bike on weekends. I can't go too long without exercising! :D

I work out for an hour from 4 - 5 p.m. Mon, Wed., & Friday. I do cardio, lifting, and abs. If I didn't have to work to pay the personal trainer I'd go earlier in the morning - like 9 or 10 a.m.

NOT that I'm a morning person, but realistically, that's the ONLY time I will and can do it. After work it's just too hard with supper and cleaning up and baths, plus, I'm pooped from a long day.

So, I get up around 5:15 and do either a 60 minute FIRM tape, or a 30 minute abs or quick FIRM/Cardio tape. Granted, I don't do this every day as I should, but some weeks are better than others.

Mornings before work I go to the gym for an hour (like 6:20 to 7:20).

Those of you who like to combine cardio and strength training during the same workout, do the strength training first. :D

I go in the evening! We usually walk anywhere from 3 to 6 miles 3-4 times a week! I use to go to a Curves class but it closes at 7 so i would have to be there by 6:30. It is so hard for me to get there by then.

Weights in the morning, 6:30 am.

Run a 5K on the treadmill in the evenings at 5:30 pm after work.

Weekends I'll run an hour either on the treadmill or outside, depending on weather and our schedule on Saturdays.

I take Sunday off.

Morning, definitely. Usually for an hour or so - depending on what I feel like doing. If I run, it could be less than an hour.

Miss Jasmine - If I lift legs, I can't do that first or my legs will be so rubbery on the treadmill that I'll fall flat on my face! ;) lol

I wish I could work out in the morning, I hate doing it after work. I already get up at 5 though, I couldn't possibly get up at 4:00, I despise mornings enough as it is!

I understand, the days I do legs I don't do cardio. But really you work your muscles more if you do the strength training first.

1/2hr walk in the early morn
hr walk after work/night

I just joined Gold's Gym 3 weeks ago and have lost 10 pounds so far.:D

I work out six days a week, in the evenings. I've been doing step aerobics almost every day, and weight training three times a week.

Its working. I have a goal in mind to reach by February. We're going on our very first cruise on the Wonder next April. I can't wait for those photographers now, instead of dreading them! :teeth:

One thing about exercise that is very important is ...LIFT WEIGHTS!!!!! ::yes::

Just walking or jogging is NOT enough.

Just a Friendly Reminder!!!!

(When my Mom had her stroke last year , many of the Rehab folks told me that because most seniors have not done strengthening exercises (lifting weights) &they are more prone to end up in Nursing Homes due to no upper body strength, more so than end up there because of illness.

ditto...when I have strength/cardio days...I always take it easy on the cardio. and you SHOULD do your lifting first - otherwise, you'll wear them out on the cardio and you wont' be able to lift your max.

both day:
5 min warm up on treadmill
strenght training (upper and lower)
25 minutes on elliptical - not killing myself
5 min cool down on treadmill
stretching

cardio day:
5 min warm up on treadmill
30 min on elliptical
15 min powerwalk on treadmill followed by 5 min cool down.

I can only work out after work...i usually hit the gym frm 5 to 6:30

Man I need to go. It joined the Y last weekend... haven't gone yet.

I have a wedding dress that I still need to fit into... I have three months to go actually about 2.5 months to. Need to lose 10 lbs or so and 1.5 inches in my waist....

You are all so motivated. Drives me nuts!!!

I am 26, no kids, work 8-4:30pm getting up at 6:30 and going to bed at 9:00pm because I have no energy.

I KNOW what to do, lower carbs high protein and exercise and I won't be tired... because given I sit at a desk all day I shouldn't need 9.5 hours of sleep a night to survive. I actually usually fall asleep between 10-10:30pm....

I need to do it... I need to do it... I need to do it... I need to do it... Nothing helps.. I've tried!!!

I just started working out again this week, it's been a few months. Anyway, I wish I could work out in the morning, but I am so not a morning person! I like to work out in the afternoon's 3 or 4:00'ish, but sometimes have to wait until kids are in bed. But that's during the school year, now I can do afternoons all I want. I tried Windsor Pilates yesterday. I don't think I will be doing those again! LOL! Back to my elliptical (and weights)!

Hhmmm... from about 11 pm to 5 am... that's when I do my deep breathing exercises ;)

:faint:

I was like that too. I have worked out almost my whole life..but there was a time when I didnt feel like it. What you need to do is find someone that wont let you excuse yourself.

I met my workout partner three years ago and we have never let each other bow out (unless it is a really good excuse.) Now he is very handsome..so that helps, but anyone a girlfriend or a trainer. Someone that wont let you make excueses. That is what got me back on track.

A trainer would be nice but I don't think I could afford it. Though I admit I have no idea how much it would cost!
